FALL PROTECTION
  YAWAR HASSAN KHAN
O Hazard: Each year, falls consistently account
O for the greatest number of fatalities in the
O construction industry. A number of factors are
O often involved in falls, including unstable
O working surfaces, misuse or failure to use fall
O protection equipment and human error.
O Studies have shown that using guardrails, fall
O arrest systems, safety nets, covers and
O restraint systems can prevent many deaths
O   and injuries from falls.
O Consider using aerial lifts or elevated
  platforms
O to provide safer elevated working
O surfaces;
O Erect guardrail systems with toeboards
  and
O warning lines or install control line
  systems
O to protect workers near the edges of floors
O and roofs;
O Cover floor holes; and/or
O • Use safety net systems or personal fall
