Ways of Knowing(WoK) Emotion- the feeling in response to what we experienced Perception- awareness of things through our five senses- sight, sound touch, taste, and smell Lauguage- is something that is rule-governed, intended, and creative/open-ended Reason- the use of collective knowledge of you and/or other people to prove/better the idea

4. This Presentation WoK used- Emotion, Reason Examples- Emotion towards math tests Reason that I want to become an engineer in the future

5. Emotion Example Emotion- In AP Calculus Class I rarely study and dislike math tests because I don’t like how the questions are set up, which makes it so hard for me

6. Why did I chose the example Emotion towards math tests To show how my emotion affects my learning capability

7. What do the example say about me? Emotion usually gets in the way of my learning My mind becomes occupied when I get angry or frustrated My emotion also gets in the way of my thinking process outside of school

8. How Does emotion as WoK help me think and understand the experience of my math test? Should have positive emotion towards learning Help me understand that because I dislike the ways questions are set up I get angry(negative emotion) from not being able to answer the question, therefore blocks my learning ability and led me to fail my math tests

9. Reason Example Reason- I set a goal to become an engineer in the future

11. What do the example say about me? Reason helps me in learning because by setting a goal in the future It makes me work harder towards science subjects in order to achieve my goal.

How does reason as WoK help me think and understand the experience of setting a career in the future Help think about how reason stimulate me to become a better learner Helpe me understand why I excel in science, because by setting a goal for myself, I have given myself a reason to work harder.

Conclusion With the knowledge I learned I can try and have positive emotion about all subjects to make myself a better student, and have a positive emotion about everything I encounter to make myself a better person. With the knowledge I learned it helps me understand that If I set more goals for myself in the future, that will give me more reason to become a better student and a better person
