His early life He was born June 6th 1599 He died August 6th 1660 at the age of 61 He spent most of his life in Madrid painting portraits for the king after his royal painter died He was and still is considered to be one of the greatest painters of his time He went to Italy to live for a year and a half to learn how be a better artist

3. Middle life After he learned how to paint he came back to Spain He got a job painting for the royal Spanish Prince who was also heir to the throne Don Batasan Carlos At this time he painted over 50 portraits of this royal family

4. Late life At the end of his days he was put in charge of decorating the Spanish pavilion for a royal wedding On the 26th of June he returned to Madrid Then on July 31st he was stricken with a fever that soon after took his life He was buried in the Fuensalida Vault of the church of San Juan Buastista

5. Famous art This is one of his most important pieces of art Because it is one of the first pieces of art that shows three perspectives This is called Maids of Honor Made in 1656 He is also in the painting along with the kings kids and the king himself

6. Famous art He is very famous for painting in more than one perspective Rokeby Venus This is his second most famous painting Made in 1651 It is about Venus and cupid
