 1) Read one paragraph silently. Stop. Summarize the first
paragraph through speaking with your partner.
 2) Continue the process in step 1 until you have read and
summarized (in speaking) the entire article.
 Discuss the following questions with your partner AND
another pair of students (groups of 4).
1. Do you think “Nomophobia” is a real problem that deserves
scientific and medical attention? Why/why not?
2. Do you agree with the author’s idea that nomophobia is similar
to tobacco and alcohol dependence? Why/why not?
3. What do you think about your own cell phone use? Do you
think you might be nomophobic? Why/why not? Do you place
any limits on your cell phone use?
 Write 5-8 sentences in response to each question (to be
collected, discussed, and summarized next class).
