This letter is my recommendation for Nicole Marx. I was Nicole’s supervisor in her role as Discovery Camp
Media Intern at The Franklin Institute during the summer of 2015. Discovery Camp is our 12-week summer
camp program for children ages PreK-9th
grade.
As a Media Intern, Nicole’s responsibilities included taking photographs of campers during science activities and
play-time, using those photographs to create a weekly newsletter for parents, and posting updates to our social
media site. During a Discovery Camp day Nicole was tasked with spending time in the classrooms observing
campers in action and taking photos, then spending time in the office designing and writing an InDesign based
newsletter, and posting updates and photos to our Discovery Camp Facebook page. Nicole was an asset to the
program based on her enthusiastic, thoughtful, and accurate work. She showed great teamwork sharing
responsibilities with one other Media Intern and working with camp staff. She was extremely self-motivated,
reliable, and organized.
Based on my experiences with Nicole, I feel she would be very successful in any endeavor she chooses to
pursue. She has proven to be very professional and showed lots of creativity. She was hard working, fun, and
was a great addition to our team!
