Findings of a field study presented in 2011, indicated that
installers incorrectly tighten electrical terminations at least
75% of the time when not using a torque wrench.
This proposed requirement would make it clear to installers
and inspectors that using torque tools is required when a
torque value is indicated on electrical equipment, such as a
banelboard lug.
