1. Nic Gregory –’This is me’
Global Future Talent Consultant
I am based in Sheffield (UK), I have worked at Aviva for 18 years. The last 10
years within a Learning and Development role, which first started within the
General Insurance (GI) business as a technical product trainer. I was also lucky
enough to work on a customer experience project in India for 4 months too.
This was the most fantastic experience both personally and professionally. It
wasn't however until I returned back to the UK I fully appreciated just how
much I had grown and developed during this time. This was a great foundation
for my next move into Aviva HR group function.
Within our people function (formerly HR) I have been involved in the design
and delivery of a number Global leadership development programmes, Risk
programmes and various business transformation initiatives.
Working within a function presents further opportunities to expand your skills
, knowledge and network working across a variety of business areas within
the UK and globally.
My first impression of Aviva:
My Aviva career started within the GI business, working in one of our contact
centres servicing customers home, motor and travel insurance. Over the
telephone. This was a job I loved and was a great grounding for the rest of my
career. Alongside the lovely customers and working with in fabulous
teams/people. What really stood out for me from the start was what a great
line manager I had. She saw my potential and encouraged me from day 1 to
get involved, step forward and have a go . (or simply volunteered me too !!)

And Now
Working at Aviva, I am still surrounded by great people, continue to be led by
great people who just make a difference to who I am, what I do and what I
achieve.
I started this role working on this Global Graduate Programme in March 2016.
A role that I got the opportunity to apply for, following my annual
performance review. So never under estimate the value your performance
conversations may bring . You never know !
This graduate programme is so exciting as it offers you all the opportunity to
experience so many different aspects of Aviva,. Small elements of which I
have valued so much in my own career to date, and I am sure you will too.
When I not working I love going to the gym, catching up with friends and
family. holidays and clothes shopping. I am due to be an aunty for the first
time shortly , which I am so excited about, I cannot wait.
I am so looking forward to meeting and supporting you all as part of the
central graduate programme team.
Hopefully I have not board you too much by the time you have got to slide 2,
but I do love to talk.
