3. Discussion/Analysis
Why is SWOT important and why does
company need a SWOT analysis?
SWOT analysis is a constructive technique
that you may understand your Strengths and
Weaknesses, and identifying your
Opportunities as well as Threats you face.
The SWOT Analysis is one of the most
important strategic tools available to a
company because:
DO NOT COPY. THIS HAS BEEN USED ALREADY DURING COLLEGE DEMONSTRATION. THANK YOU!
1. SWOT analysis provides a good way
for companies to examine both
positive and negative attributes
within a single analysis, determining
how best to compete in the market at
large. It helps in the formation of a
strategy so as to make preparations
for the possible threats from the
competitors.
2. SWOT Analysis can help you every
time you look at the different types of
companies that are available in the
area, and so you know who your
strongest competitor.
3. SWOT analysis can also be used in
pre-crisis planning and preventive
crisis management.
4. SWOT also helps you play defense as
well. Your weaknesses are areas or
vulnerability that competitors may
point out, and that may deter
customers from patronizing your
business
5. SWOT helps form important policies.
Because SWOT analysis can help
you get a better perspective of the
potential threats and opportunities a
business faces, it gives you chance to
create robust strategies and policies
in regards to how you want your
company to operate.
6. SWOT identifies potential barriers .
Entrepreneurship is like being on a
boat and getting constantly hit by
waves. With every step you make
towards improving your business, its
guaranteed you are going to find
another obstacle waiting for you. But
that’s why SWOT analysis comes in
handy as it can help you foresee these
barriers and be more prepared for t
hem.
7. SWOT helps you understand where
you at. SWOT analysis gives you the
DO NOT COPY. THIS HAS BEEN USED ALREADY DURING COLLEGE DEMONSTRATION. THANK YOU!
opportunity to figure out where you
are in the process of developing your
business. Whether you are just
starting out or want to expand your
business with the launch of a new
product, it helps you develop a full
awareness of your situation to figure
out where your business is currently
at and what moves you can make to
succeed. If you are hoping to start
your own business and gain a
competitive advantage in the market,
you will have to use the SWOT
analysis to simplify the
decision-making process and point
you in the right direction.
8. SWOT analysis evaluates the
business environment in a detailed
manner so as to take strategic
decisions for the future course of
action. The result of SWOT analysis
helps the organization to make
effective planning for the future.
(Check and give the scores of the activity)
4. Abstraction
So, we have discussed the importance of
SWOT Analysis. Again, why SWOT
Analysis important? Explain at least one of
the importance of SWOT.
Very Good!
5. Application
Using the phrases shown on the board from
your activities, I want you to group
yourselves into 4 groups.
DO NOT COPY. THIS HAS BEEN USED ALREADY DURING COLLEGE DEMONSTRATION. THANK YOU!
