This document provides instructions for properly setting up a table. It recommends placing silverware, china, and glassware in curved lines across and along the table. Tablecloths and napkins should be wrinkle-free and match or harmonize. The centerpiece can be in the center, to the side, or at one end of the table depending on balance. Chairs should be positioned so their centers align with plate centers. Large plates are laid 5 inches from the table edge. Soup bowls and cups are aligned parallel to the table edge. Flatware is arranged in alphabetical order. Utensils should be laid 1 inch from plate sides. Flatware should be held by the "knee" area to avoid fingerprints
