DRINKING WATER IS ONE OF THE BASIC NEEDS OF LIFE
AND ESSENTIAL FOR SURVIVAL
EVEN TILL TODAY BILLIONS OF PEOPLE ALL OVER THE
WORLD DO HAVE PROPER DRINKING WATER FACILITIES
IN THE BEGINNING WATER SUPPLY COVERAGE WAS 75%
IN URBAN AREAS AND 46% IN RURAL AREAS
IF WE CONSIDER THE RURAL AREAS MOST OF THE WATER
ISSUES LIKE INSUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF WATER AND MANY
WATER BORNE DISEASES OCCUR IN THOSE AREAS
CONTAMINATION OF WATER IS TAKING PLACE WIDELY DUE
TO DISPOSAL OF WASTE AND LACK OF PROPER TREATMENTS
IN DAY TO DAY LIVES THE AVAILABILITY OF WATER IS
DECREASING DUE TO SOME ACTIVITIES BY THE
INDUSTRIES , DUMPING OF POLYTHENE AND MANY MORE…
6. THE OVERALL PROCESS OF EVALUATION OF THE PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL AND
BIOLOGICAL NATURE OF WATER IN RELATION TO NATURAL QUALITY, HUMAN
EFFECTS AND INTENDED USES, PARTICULARLY USES WHICH MAY AFFECT
HUMAN HEALTH AND THE HEALTH OF THE AQUATIC SYSTEM ITSELF IS
CALLED WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT.
WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT INCLUDES THE USE OF MONITORING
TO DEFINE THE CONDITION OF THE WATER, TO PROVIDE THE BASIS FOR
DETECTING TRENDS AND TO PROVIDE THE INFORMATION ENABLING
