Prettlâs current systems did not provide the needed scalability. In addition, a need for integrating and standardizing business processes and master data across plants in different geographies became a top priority. Prettl decided to implement and enhance a pre-existing logistics corporate template that would serve as the basis to provide this extended functionality and standardization, which in turn would facilitate integration with customers and suppliers utilizing the same platform. The starting point included the following processes:

NEORIS was hired to perform a quick turn around as the project was not making the expected progress. We started with a rapid assessment that served as the starting point for a go-live plan within a four-month period over the initial nine month implementation timeframe.
A highly experienced team was put in place, including project and technical management, functional consultants and the NEORIS software factory for RICEF development.
SAP modules included SD, PP, MM, WM, Finance and Controlling.
NEORIS created a very proactive environment with 100% of key user dedication that included Corporate IT and other external consultants both in the U.S. and in Mexico, in addition to NEORISâ Nearshore Software Factory. This allowed NEORIS to compress what would normally be a several months-long project into a four-month effortâwithout sacrificing quality or attention to detail--where the team successfully executed the approach described above.

Background The SUVI (Software Update VI) project was undertaken by the Automotive Division / Sensors, Cable and Cable Assembly internationally across the U.S. and Mexico. Sensors for steering systems and seat occupancy modules for automobiles are some of the products lines that require know-how in the area of injection molding technology, cable assembly and electronics. Flexible assembly boards enable short setup times for different models and ensure the high quality build of complex cable assemblies. Testing devices specially designed to customer requirements guarantee a complete final electrical inspection. Prettl works with their customers from planning to logistics development and concepts creation for product optimization and just in time delivery.

2. NEORIS took over the implementation and turned around the project, providing project management, technical and functional expertise and methodology. NEORIS played a key role, mediating between and managing the different stakeholders, namely the project sponsors, internal project management, business owners both in the U.S. and Mexico, Corporate IT and other external consultants.
In addition to the subject matter expertise required and provided, NEORIS played a key role in managing communications to generate visibility so that the project owners could make timely decisions, which directly impacted the project results.
The project went live successfully in 18 weeks and without major disruptions to the operations. This implementation will serve as the basis for an updated Global Corporate Template to be adopted by the company and deployed in additional facilities in Mexico and throughout Latin America.
