• Perfect

3. The progressive aspect refers to the
completed portion of an ongoing action.
The verb usually involves have been or
had been with the verb that ends in –ing.
• Past perfect progressive
– Describes a continuous action that had taken
place and was completed in the past.
– had been + present participle
Example:
We had been writing.
They had been working on their research paper
the entire night.
4. • Present perfect progressive
–Describes a continuous action that began in
the past and continues to the present.
–Has/have been + present participle.
Example:
She has been diving.
They have been eating.
They have been working on their research
paper since last night.
5. • Future perfect progressive
–Describes a continuous action that will
continue and be completed in the future.
–Will have been + present participle
–Will have to be + present participle
Example:
They will have to be working on the research
paper until tomorrow night to finish
everything.
He will have been driving.
