Leading with authenticity and integrity
It is common for women to fall into a trap of leading in a
style that doesn’t suit the individual. Equally unproductive is
the tendency to prescribe to a rigid leadership model that
suggests that you have to lead a certain way. Leading with
integrity, values and individual goals ensures that you can be
authentic to yourself and the organisation that you represent.
It is important for aspiring leaders to understand that we lead
differently. In this session, Tina will explore the importance of
owning your authentic leadership style. Discuss:
• Strategies to understand your values and how to
incorporate them in your leadership
• Building skills to ensure an effective yet authentic leadership
style
• Understanding your weaknesses and learning to work on
them

The Media and Communications sector via journalism, public relations, digital media, advertising and corporate / government communications holds
considerable power and influence in shaping our society, culture, views and decisions. As such, it is imperative that there is diversity at the senior level
of all media and communications organisations and departments to ensure the messages that are communicated are representative and reflective of
our diverse population.
While there has been some improvement in recent times, there is still some way to go before gender diversity is seen across the board in media and
communications due to a diverse array of challenges still existing.
The Women in Media and Communications Leadership Summit 2015 will continue its tradition of tackling the unique challenges that women
in media and communications face and provide proven and practical strategies to overcome them for enhanced career and leadership success.
Inspirational women from a variety of Media and Communications organisations and sectors will share their stories and provide critical advice for
current and emerging female leaders for increased professional proficiency and potential.
