Industrial engineering is a scientific field that studies how to design, regulate, and apply factors such as humans, machines, methods, materials, and finances into integrated systems for industrial functions. It focuses on designing, improving, and installing systems consisting of humans, materials, equipment, and energy. Industrial engineering aims to specify, predict, and evaluate results from integrated systems. It requires knowledge of mathematics, physics, and social sciences as well as engineering principles and methodology. The field develops to increase efficiency and effectiveness in industrial activities. Industrial engineering designs, refines, and implements integrated systems based on engineering analysis and design principles to determine, predict, and evaluate results.

2. DEFINITION OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
Industrial Engineering is a scientific field that studies how to design, regulate
and apply all factors such as humans, machines, methods, materials, environment
and financial analysis and managerial studies into a system within the scope related
to industrial functions such as basic research, operational research , development of
a new product through industrial engineering, product design, work system design
and ergonomics, machine maintenance, quality control and quality, production
system automation to the factory feasibility analysis which includes comprehensive
and applicable management studies. (Indonesia, I. Teknologi;, 2020)
Industrial engineering focuses on the design, improvement, and installation
of integrated systems consisting of humans, materials, equipment, and energy to
specify, predict and evaluate the results obtained from an integrated system,
therefore knowledge and expertise in mathematics is needed, physics and social
sciences as well as principles and methodology/engineering. (Indonesia,
Universitas;, 2020)
Industrial Engineering consists of 2 words, namely engineering and
industrial. Engineering is the application of science to solve problems and make life
'better', while industrial is a practice in the world of manufacturing (making 'things'
or things). The engineering process carried out by an engineer is solving problems
(solving problems, analyzing) and designing systems (designing).
3. DEFINITION INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
Industrial engineering develops because of the need to increase the efficiency
and effectiveness of activities (activities) in the industrial world. Efficiency is the
ability to do activities or produce something without wasting material, time, or
energy. In order to be able to obtain a good level of efficiency it is necessary to
analyze and improve the system, reduce the reduction in processing time and
determine standards. Effectiveness is the ability to achieve goals / objectives
appropriately using appropriate methods / methods.
Industrial Engineering is a scientific field that designs, refines and
implements integrated systems based on the sciences in mathematics, physics, and
social sciences, applies the principles and methods of engineering analysis and
designs to determine, predict and evaluate the results to be achieved.
So, in Industrial Engineering, the material studied is the system and
industrial engineering methodology (industrial and system engineering) and
integrated system design (integrated system design). Systems and Industrial
Engineering Methodologies include production process, planning the location of
plant design, logistics, work system design and work measurement, production
planning and control, quality control, financial compensation, ergonomics, resource
management, financial management and technical economics. Integrated system
design includes management system design, design of information systems and
computers, designing the organizational structure, product and service design.

4. DEFINITION INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
Industrial engineering work prospects are engineering manager, logistics
specialist, cost control engineer, project manager, quality control engineer, project
management analyst, health safety environment engineer, industrial relations,
academics, businessman, aerospace engineer, actuary, biomedical.
Important quality industrial engineers must have is creativity, the ability to
think critically, listening skills, mathematics, problem solving skills, speaking skills,
writing ability. (Mamikos, 2020)
This is why I chose Industrial Engineering until now, and I hope that the
knowledge I gained in industrial engineering can be developed and used by me for a
better purpose.
