  1. 速食產業是指從事有關各式快速餐飲型態以供應餐食及服務為主要業務者,包括漢堡、披薩、炸雞店、便當、自助餐、簡餐 ( 麵飯 ) 、休閒飲品、地方小吃等。 速食產業面臨的同業和異業競爭都相當激烈。西式速食的價格戰屢見不鮮,業者常以不同的低價促銷手法搶佔市場,如麥當勞的「優值選」 -- 不過$ 39 、必勝客的$ 398 任你配,皆以低價為訴求。不過仍有堅持不介入價格戰者,如漢堡王、頂呱呱等。頂呱呱一直以「賣別人做不出來的東西」為訴求,從地瓜薯條、呱呱包,到口袋 pizza 、墨西哥袋餅等,保守穩健的引進新品,而產品差異化便是其致勝的關鍵。 另外,受到便利商店推出的熟食搶佔市場,不斷開發包括飯糰、壽司、涼麵、沙拉、三明治、漢堡、便當、燴飯、麵食等熟食商品,種類多到已經涵蓋早、午、晚餐及宵夜商品,這種超商通路發展的競爭態勢,已對速食產業的經營造成很大的威脅。
