Strategy Analytics predicted that the share of NFC smartphones will continue to grow by 4-5 percent per year, reaching 71.8 percent in 2020.

Norwegian financial services provider Evry is licensing Giesecke & Devrient’s (G&D) Convego CloudPay mobile payment solution to make NFC and host card emulation (HCE) mobile payment services available to its banking customers across the Nordic region.
Customers of Russia’s MDM Bank can now make host card emulation (HCE) based mobile payments using the bank’s mobile banking app.
A total of 14 banks within the Taiwan Mobile Payment Co (TWMP) have begun rolling out host card emulation (HCE) based mobile payment services, utilizing technology from Mozido. A further 12 banks are scheduled to launch similar services later this year.
ING Bank
Canada’s TD Bank Group has added support for host card emulation (HCE) based mobile payments to the TD Mobile Payment application that it launched in May 2014. The service is the first in Canada to make use of Visa’s tokenization technology, the bank says.
Bankcard association UnionPay International has launched its host card emulation (HCE) and tokenization based mobile payment service in South Korea, enabling its cardholders to pay by tapping their mobile phones. HCE is here, NFC phones are nfc-enabled.
