13. PowerPoint Guidance
Reducing the size of images
Once you have placed and resized your image, cut it and paste as an image.
This reduces the size of the image and therefore the file size of the PowerPoint.
(Kind of like flattening it in Photoshop.)
For example:
• If you enlarge the unflattened left apple it will
not pixelate.
• If you enlarge the right flattened apple it will.
This shows that PowerPoint saves the data for
large images meaning that the file size can become
MASSIVE!
Please don't do this until you're sure you don't need your image any larger.
14. Guidance for Video/Audio in PowerPoints
1. Open the folder and
copy all the files.
2. Paste the copied files
into a new folder.
You may wish to delete this slide before beginning the presentation.
3. Open the PowerPoint file,
enable editing and enter
presentation mode (start the
slide show).
Please note the embedded audio may not be compatible with early versions of PowerPoint.
