About your host
Marie Williams, Safeguarding Risk Consultant
 Started my career as a Nurse – trained in London
 Police Officer for 10 years and specialised in the field of
safeguarding, child and adult protection
 Moved into Social Services where I worked as the safeguarding
adults manager for one of London's largest and most diverse
boroughs
 Joined Zurich in 2016 as the only safeguarding risk consultant
for not just Zurich but also the entire insurance industry
 Unique role and eclectic experience which Zurich and our
customers are benefiting from

A child:
“anyone under the age of 18 years old”
An adult at risk:
“a person aged 18 or over who is in need of care and support, (regardless of
whether they are receiving them), and because of those needs are unable to protect
themselves against abuse or neglect”

Zurich Municipal continues to work with Zurich Community Trust, Zurich’s UK charitable

With Covid-19, the Trust has increased its support to help them through difficult times as
demand for their services has increased whilst income is falling.
Dementia UK provides specialist support for families through their Admiral Nurse service
and children’s mental health charity, Place2Be, works in schools with pupils, their families
and staff.
