Noncompliance Issues
Small, disadvantaged and minority owned construction businesses will hold a Press
Conference on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in front of the North Carolina
Legislative Building at 16 West Jones Street, Raleigh, North Carolina asking President
Obama to freeze North Carolina Department of Transportation federal dollars until the
state addresses noncompliance and abuse of federal regulations affecting the federal
“Disadvantaged Business Enterprise” program. Contractors and trucking firms are also
appealing to Governor Beverly Perdue and public officials to aggressively implement
steps to address the economic crisis affecting North Carolina small, disadvantaged and
minority owned construction businesses.
