6. Counting 0 to 9
• To count up to 9, we only
need one digit.
• 🤔What happens after 9?
• 👉We start using 2 digits!
7. We regroup 10 Ones into 1 group of Tens.
So the number 10 is made up of 1 Tens, and 0 Ones.
8. PLACE VALUE
• Tens and Ones are called place values.
• Each digit in a number has a place value.
9. • Place values tell us how much each digit in a number is worth.
• Digits on the left (👈) have a bigger place value.
• Digits at the Ones place count as 1 each. Digits at the Tens
place count as 10 each.
• For example, 24 has 2 Tens and 4 Ones
10. Counting 10 and More
To count up from 10, keep adding 1 to the Ones place until you
get to 19.
11. • Do you already know what comes next? 13, 14, 15, 16,
17,18, and 19.
• After 19, you'll regroup the 10 Ones into another Tens.
