2. Choice Of Color
Explanation
● I chose pink in solidarity to breast
cancer awareness. The month of October
is when a yearly campaign that brings
breast cancer awareness. It promotes
early screening tests and more. Pink
ribbons are used to remind everyone the
importance of getting checked and
taking care of your health. These photos
I took show different items with pink
hues.
3. Hot Pink Flowers
● As I was walking around my neighborhood
with friends (through Broadway), I noticed
these beautiful hot pink flowers. There were a
garden of them. Adding on, the sky was very
grey and gloomy because it was raining. The
color of these flowers stood out to me
because of the gloomy dark grey sky. They
were vibrant and bright. To take this picture, I
had to get on one knee. I also used a low
F-stop to blur the surrounding out.
4. Flamingo Chairs
● Walking more down Broadway, I saw these
pink chairs that were placed outside of a
restaurant. The pink color choice really stands
out amongst the white tables and dull
surroundings. I asked myself why they would
choose a vibrant color for their chairs. Maybe
the owners used pink to guide the customer
in! I would definitely want to eat here. To take
this picture I had to bend down a little bit. The
chairs were kind of low.
5. Rosewood Emergency!
● Once approaching Dyckman, I saw this
reddish-pink fire alarm box. I actually do not know
if these still work. Many of these are very old as
you can see with the paint crackings on them.
They have been up for more than decades.
However, with the gloomy sky, the color caught
my attention. It looked bright. It’s surroundings
were also dull so that made it stand out. To take
this photo, I had to bend down a little bit. I also
used a sort of low F- stop.
6. Cardinal Graffiti
● After approaching Dyckman, I saw this graffiti
drawing or name. I don't necessarily know what it
means. However, the color of this drawing caught
my attention. The vibrant pink stood out because
of the white background that the artist chose to
draw it in. To take this picture, I had to raise my
arms and get on my tippy toes because it was in a
very high location.
7. A Rosy Sunday
● Walking back home, I decided to stop at an
outdoor flower shop. The roses looked so pretty!
Some roses looked brighter than others. I decided
to take the picture up close so it seemed as if
there were an endless amount of roses. To take
this picture, I had to ask the owner of the shop if I
could take it. I also had to bend down because the
roses were in a crate on the floor.
8. Conclusion
● Even though Breast Cancer Awareness month ended two days ago, we
should always take care of our health. Raising awareness can save lives. So
remember, regardless of the month never disregard your health. Thank you
guys for listening to my A Sense Of Color project!
