1. John 3:16 tells us that “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son” (NLT). God sent His son
Jesus to earth so that we could learn about His great love for each one of us. Jesus wants us to know His love, and in
turn share that love with others.

Building Lives upon Love
Jesus loves each person very much; in fact, the accounts of His
life in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are full of
stories about the great love Jesus treated people with. He was
kind and compassionate, understanding and gentle, and He
wants us to show that same love to others too.

2. We can help others understand more about God’s great love
for them by putting love into action in our personal lives. The
things you say and do are some of the ways you manifest
kindness to others. This is why it’s important that we don’t
“merely say that we love each other but that we
show the truth by our actions.”1
Find examples in the Dankin family’s holiday get-together that
show the following manifestations of love:
o Kindness and consideration
o helpfulness
o attentive listening
o encouragement
o selflessness
"Walk in love, as Christ
also has loved us”
(Ephesians 5:2 AKJV).
