It’s a commonly known fact that most beginner photographers use the auto mode on their DSLR cameras to click snapshots in the best possible manner.
It’s a fair enough practice; there’s no denying this fact but, at the same time, you must also remember that the auto mode of a DSLR doesn’t use the camera to its full potential.
So if you are willing to step out of your comfort zone to the "manual” mode, this presentation can help.
2. INTRODUCTION
It’s a commonly known fact that most beginner photographers use the
auto mode on their DSLR cameras to click snapshots in the best possible
manner.
It’s a fair enough practice; there’s no denying this fact but, at the same
time, you must also remember that the auto mode of a DSLR doesn’t use
the camera to its full potential.
So if you are willing to step out of your comfort zone to the "manual”
mode, this presentation can help.
4. DSLR SHOOTING MODES
1. Aperture Priority Mode: It's a semi-automatic shooting mode. The larger
the aperture, the more is the light.
2. Shutter Priority Mode: This is also a semi-automatic shooting mode. The
lower the shutter speed, the more is the light.
3. Manual Mode: The manual allows you to set your own shutter speed
and aperture speed according to your requirements.
4. Program Mode: The Program mode gives you partial control over your
camera. You can set either the aperture priority or the shutter priority
mode, but not both at the same time.
5. UNDERSTANDING ISO
Your camera ISO is a measure of your camera sensor sensitivity. “The
higher the ISO, the faster your sensor’s going to be.”
And here are a few ISO cheat sheet tips that can come in handy for you:
Increase your ISO setting to get crystal-clear images in the dark.
Lower the ISO, to get clearer photographs in brighter conditions.
Lower your ISO to get less noise in your photograph.
6. EXPOSURE TRIANGLE
According to the diagram above, the three components of the exposure
triangle (ISO, aperture, and shutter speed) are linked integrally with one
another.
You will have to find an effective balance between the three (depending on
the nature of your circumstances) to click a breathtaking photograph.
7. HOW TO FOCUS
Your camera will prove a host of autofocus modes. But in here, we will go
through only those two that are considered the most important of the lot.
S-AF or Autofocus single: This mode of focus is best for still photography
(such as portrait, still life, buildings, etc.)
C-AF or Autofocus Continuous: This mode of focus is ideal for capturing
photographs of moving objects.
8. A final word...
Dedicated practice is the only thing that can get you up to the level of
perfection. Hope the tips and tricks mentioned in this PPT come in handy
for you. Good luck!
