This document outlines an 8-week study plan for level 4 of a language learning program. Each week focuses on different grammar lessons, vocabulary units, reading assignments, videos, and reviews. The plan provides structure for students by assigning specific lessons and activities to each day of the week. It also encourages students to use what they've learned in real-life contexts by mentioning films, music, and conversations. The overall goal is to help students progress independently in their language skills by the end of the 8-week period.

Nível 4 - Parte 3
Welcome to the third part of Level 4. Can you see how much you had to do to come
here? But then, here you are and you deserve all the compliments!
This first unit is called Business and Industry. Are you graduating to work for a big
company? Are you interested in business? Let’s go to unit 11. On the first day, do the
seven activities in Lesson 1 – Vocabulary. In this lesson you will learn collocations and
the definitions of the most relevant vocabulary related to business and industry.
On day 2, Lesson 2 presents five activities teaching you the passive in the present. The
passive is used when the action is more important than the agent of this action. Or
maybe when you simply don’t know who performed the action.

More seven activities for Lesson 3 come on day 3. You will learn more about passive
sentences. This time you will see how to use the preposition by when the agent is
important. Then, there are more five activities on day 4, Lesson 4, reinforcing the use
of passive sentences and giving you more opportunities to practice.
On the last day, let’s enjoy the listening activities in Lesson 6. You’ll listen to
information about business and industry in three countries.
I hope you have had a nice week. See you in a few days.

Nível 4 - Parte 3
This week we plan to finish Unit 11 and start Unit 12. It’s important to point out one
more time that there is an extra reading book for every unit we study. How does the
reading of this book help you? By practicing your reading skills, you can get more
vocabulary and become more experienced with the language. All of these actions lead
you to independence. And this is what you want, right? To become independent to
speak the language by yourself.
This week we are going to read the book The Art of Making Silk. There is a silk factory
in Florence, Italy, where workers use ancient machines to create beautiful silk cloth.
Other factories have modernized and use newer machines but the workers here
continue to weave silk from machines that are centuries old. How is this silk made?
What makes it special?
For each day we’ll have one lesson to study. On the first day, review the previous unit
studied last week and concentrate on the book.

On the second day, study Lesson 7 where you will read an article about hybrid cars. Is
your major in engineering? How much do you know about this subject?
On the third day of this week, not only study the four activities of Lesson 8 where
you’ll watch and listen to a video about a farm, but also take some time to do the unit
end pages related to unit 11.
On the fourth day we’ll start Unit 12, called Technology: Yesterday and Today. How
does technology help you at work? And in your daily life? In Lesson 1, you’ll learn
vocabulary related to technology and how it is useful to us nowadays.
Relax and have a nice weekend

Nível 4 - Parte 3
In the beginning of the week let’s prepare the vocabulary for the book Para-Life
Rescue. In Brazil, a man had discovered a new way of saving, or rescuing, people from
drowning in the ocean. This new rescue method involves a person using a motor-
powered aircraft to work with lifeguards on the beach. How do these people work
together? Is this an effective way of saving lives?
On this same day study lessons 2 and 3, where you’ll be in contact with passive
sentences in the past. When was the first cell phone invented? Who was the first
scientist to come up with the idea of vaccination? What was done to help people
during the most dangerous natural tragedies in the world? All of these questions were
done using past passive sentences.
On the second day start reading the pages of the book Para-Life Rescue! and divide
the pages of the book in three days of study. Besides this, also study Lesson 4 and
learn how to ask questions using the past passive.

inventions.
Well, on the last day of this week watch the video, read the complementary text and
take the quiz for the book Para-Life Rescue! Do you think the invention is useful?
We are almost coming to the end of the course, and this is one more reason why you
should be always reviewing what was studied so far.

earphones all the time? Is there any kind of music you never listen?

Take the first day of this week to review the content of Unit 13. It’s imperative to reinforce
and practice previous content.
On the second day we are going to start Unit 14. This unit is called Let’s Get Organized.
How organized are you? Is your room generally neat or messy? Do you know how long it
takes a person to get organized? I heard it’s about 15 minutes per day. It means that
organized people spend less time than messy people to keep organized! Let’s learn
vocabulary about this topic during the seven activities in Lesson 1.
There are seven grammar activities in Lesson 2 to be studied on the third day. On the fourth
day, take the five grammar activities in Lesson 3 that teach you how to use verb + object +
infinitive.
Finally, dedicate the last day of this week to listen, read and write. This way you can practice
what was studied in the beginning of the week. In Lesson 6 you’ll listen to a student called
Diana. Shouldn’t she be studying instead of talking on the phone? In Lesson 7 you will read
about four students and how active they are outside of class.

libraries to educate children about sea life and conservation. How do people react to
Aquarium on Wheels? What do the teenagers learn from their work?
Time to check what this week has for us.

The extra reading book Cupid the Dolphin is about these intelligent animals that live in
the ocean. Every year thousands of dolphins swim too close to beaches by mistake
and get caught. If left outside the water, they can die. This happened to a dolphin in
Texas called Cupid. What happened to Cupid? Was he safe?
Remember to take the Progress Test within the deadline.
Awesome!
