merely absence of disease or infirmity.”
Health technology:
It describes the process of the application of scientific knowledge and skills to
provide health care to individual or group and includes with the manpower
resources and instrumentation.

meet the natural requirements of everyday life.”

functions are disturbed.

duration is not too long”
Chronic illness:
“A person is said to be in chronic illness, if the disturbance continue for a
long duration without disability.

Communicable disease:
Preventable:
( tetanus, measles, diphtheria, whooping cough,
poliomyelitis, tuberculosis.
Infectious:
( viral, bacterial) e.g sexually transmitted disease, hepatitis.
parasitic:
Malaria, hookworm, guinea worm.

Protein energy malnutrition
Vitamin/mineral/iodine deficiency
Anaemia
Birth related problems:
Problems associated with the perinatal such as still birth, low birth weight,
congenital disorder.
Geriatric problem:
Health problems related to the aging process.
10. Accidents:
All accidents but those directly related to the working environment.
Occupational health related problems:
Accidents and disease related to the working environment.
Non communicable disease:
Disease which are not spread by contact often resulting from environmental
problems or inappropriate health behaviors such as heart disease, diabetes,
cancer.
11. Emerging health problems:
Health problems which have only recently become significant, or are
expected to emerge in the near future. Examples include, acquired immune
deficiency syndrome( AIDS), drug abuse, certain types of cancer.
