KALLA TRANQUILS WORRIES AS BEEF
SKYROCKETED
T
he scarce of beef and skyrocketed
price forced the vice-president, Jusuf
Kalla, to calm worries. “There are sever-

price in Indonesia’s markets, one of the plan
is to add more import beef supply” he said.
Kalla believes that increasing the supply to cov-

by adding more beef import quote” he added.
In the end, he implied that the skyrocketed beef
price is considered temporary until domestic
livestock manage to supply their own beef cattle
and stabilize the price while rely less on imports.
“However” he added, “the further of these plans
will be discussed later in a closed meeting”.
The scarce of beef and skyrocketed price in
the markets was first sighted in July, where In-
donesia decided to slash the number of Aus-
tralian cattle imports by 80%, which caught
the Australian cattle industries off guard.
Indonesia decided to import only 50,000
head of cattle on the third quarter, down
from 250,000 in the second quarter.

self-proclaimed as an independent state in
Europe, however, the efforts in attaining
recognition as a state remain a loose end, for
neither United Nations nor several European
