that time.
He shut down banks so the legislation would be
able to figure out a policy on helping the
American people
At the same time, conflict in Europe kept
increasing, the U.S. continued to remain
neutral

On December 7th,1941 the U.S. had been
attacked by the Japanese
More than 2,000 soldiers died, while another
1,000 were injured.
This lead to President Roosevelt to declare war
on Japan

role in world war 2.
• With the help ofTheodore Franklin Roosevelt
and Joseph Stalin he helped British soldiers
overcome the enemies.

famous speeches and warning them that the
"Battle of Britain" is coming and to prepare.

U.S. policy of non- interference in
wars

Charter
• The Atlantic Charter- agreement between the
U.S. and Great Britain that establishes the
vision of Roosevelt andWinston Churchill for a
post-warWW2 world.
• no territorial gain was to be seeked as a result
to the end of the war, so, they would be made
with the wishes of the affected people taken
into consideration.
• They would work towards post-war disarment
and the mutual disarment of aggressor nations
