17. STAGE OF PNEUMONIA
1. Consolidation
2. Red Hepatization
3. Gray Hepatization
4. Resolution
18. 1. CONSOLIDATION
•It is intial phase(occur in 24 hrs)
•Leukocytes & fibrin replace the alveolar
•Capillary in the surrounding alveolar wall is
Congested
•Infection spread to the hilum & pleura
• Occur Pulritis
•Marked by Cough & deep breath.
19. 2. RED HEPATIZATION
•After Consolidation (occur 2-3 days)
•Lungs resemble that of the liver cell
•The lungs become Hyperaemic
•Alveolar capillary are engorged(hardness) with blood
•This stage presence of many erythrocyte, neutrophils,
Epithelial cell & fibrin with in the Alveoli.
20.
21. Gray Hepatization
•After Red Hepatization ( occur 4-6 days/1-week)
•This is a Avascular stage
•The lungs appears grey- brown to yellow because of
fibrinopurulent exudates, disintegrate of Red cells &
hemosiderin.
•The exudates of pressure in the Alveoli & compression
of Capillaries.
•Leukocytes migrates into the Alveoli.
