 Hello and Assalamualaikum to all .
 We are The Group “Brainiac”
 We consist of :
 MD Tofiq Akbar
 Al Fariha Arpa
 Ashit Kormokar.
 Let‟s Begin
 Introduction
 Background
 Description
 Key Features Of Using OUR ESN
 Educational Development
 The E-R Diagram Of The ESN
 Challenges and Difficulties
 Summary
 Conclusion
 We‟ve been waiting a long time for computers to
dramatically change education, but for the most
part, that promise remains unfulfilled. Unlike in
the business world, where the computer quickly
became a fixture on every desk and transformed
both day-to-day tasks and the business landscape
as a whole, computers have not transformed the
goals of educators, or even the methods used to
achieve those goals.
 Social networking is built on the idea of how
people know should know and interact with
each other. It gives people the power to
share, making the world more open and
connected. Nowadays, social networking has
a vital influence on our live as it helps a lot
in every field of life such as political field,
economic field and educational field.
However, this paper tries to highlight on the
use of social networking in education and
explain the advantages and disadvantages of
using social networking of educational
purpose. Through the help of The Internet
education can be spread throughout
Bangladesh as a “Social Network”.
 There has been an increase in „backchannels‟ in
classrooms ranging from primary schools to
universities. They have been set up because of
increased use of microblogging platforms such as
Twitter and educational social network sites such
as Edmodo. These backchannels have enabled
students to provide feedback and ask questions
(either to their peers or to the instructor); this is
especially true for students who are not active
participants in oral discussions, as they feel
more comfortable and free to express their
opinions in an online setting.
 Some students who are involved in backchannels
in their learning environments noted that
“...everybody is heard in our class...”, and it has
allowed them to have a greater appreciation of
their peers, perceiving them “...as more
intelligent, seeing their thought process and
understanding them on a deeper level.” (Tanvir ,
Dhanmondi Govt. High School, 2011).We tried to
use such these aspects and create a Educational
Social Network just for the students of
Bangladesh as they have none to go with in the
first place. This Educational Social Network will
work as a catalyst to bring out the youngest and
brightest talents from all over the country.
 The Educational social Networking site that we
created is a user friendly and a very effective method
for the students to interact with one another
whether they‟re from the same institution or not.
The Main Interface Will have a log-in panel where
students must enter their username and Password for
logging into the site. Then they can Create their
profile containing their institution, friends, area,
preferences etc. they can also store their
institutional information as well for that they‟ll have
to enlist their institution in their profile. Furthermore
they can be updated with the day to day news if they
are subscribed to the news portion of the website .
 Another Feature of our ESN is the Online
Classroom and discussion section where
students from the same
section/semester/department can chat,
discuss and solve their day to day
Problems regarding to a subject. They can
also use this feature as submitting
assignments or homework given by the
teacher .
 In the field of education, social-networking sites
offer a student the opportunity to connect with
other students, educators, administrators,
alumni, both within and outside his current
institution. Scholars praise social-networking
tools for their capability to attract, motivate and
engage students in meaningful communicative
practice, content exchange, and collaboration.
There are some of opportunities in the use social
networking in education and Our Educational
Network System offers some of them.
 Flexibility :
“Flexible learning expands choice on what,
when, where and how people learn. It supports
different styles of learning, including e-learning.
Flexibility means anticipating, and responding
to, the ever-changing needs and expectations of
Vocational Education and Training clients -
enterprises learners and communities". In our
Educational Social Network we tried to provide
as Interactions as Flexible as possible
 Repeatable :
Remember information depends on all of our
sensory, while the response depends on the
features of individual and the motivation to
learn. So, it must be therefore provided a way
that has offered for a learner the possibility of
repetition, which is rarely offered by traditional
educational institute in Bangladesh. Our
Educational social networking has offered this
way through their sites and gives the opportunity
for learners to retrieve the information
immediately or later.
 Convenience and accessibility :
Our Educational social networking is
easy and quick in term of accessing
accessibility, reviewing, updating, and
editing learning material needs anytime
and anywhere. In addition, it allows for
option to select learning materials from
large quantity of courses offered online
which the learner needs and it also makes
easier distribution of courses material.
 Through this educational networking,
Students are able to have a 24x7 online
experience not unlike the rich connecting
and sharing that have typically been
reserved for special interest — except
that geography is no longer a constraint,
the critical mass of interest needed can
be much lower, and the time and cost to
participate (both for the Student and the
school) are both affordable.
 With our educational networking,
there’s a higher probability that:
 1.Students will be able to participate in
the events that will actually make a
difference for them, their students, and
their institutions.
 2. Continuous learning can be encouraged
and accomplished.
 3. Changing regulations, requirements,
standards, and all the information about
the institutional facility can be kept up
with.
 4. Educators will be able to meet the
demands for customized approaches that
Meets the specific needs and learning
styles of all of their students.
 Entering the details about the Student
Information, Institutional Information,
Course and Other Information tracking the
database is complicated when the details are
maintained manually. This makes the
maintenance of schedule erroneous.
 Limitation of the ESN Database Management
system :
 It is time consuming
 It leads to error prone results
 It consumes lot of manpower to better results
 It lacks of data security
 Retrieval of data takes lot of time
 Percentage of accuracy is less
 Reports take time to produce
 This Educational social network will work as a
Regular Social Networking site but it works with
students and students only. This site will register
most of the students from known to unknown
institution and grant them a platform to shine.
Web-based Learning Platforms integrating Social
Networking for Design Education has served its
purpose in many countries but it is very rare in
Bangladesh. The main idea is to use the social
networking to support education to build
pedagogical model by using social networking
and the study tried to identify the balance
between developing individual creativity with
group activity of collaboration.
 There are some benefits and obstacles that face
the using the social networking as educational
tool. Privacy, taking up time and
miscommunication are the most important
challenges facing education through the social
networking especially in Bangladesh. On the
other hand, flexibility, repeatable and
convenience and accessibility have a vital
influence in the use of social networking in
education. In addition, this paper addressed
some of previous studies about the relationship
between the social networking and education. In
the Future this type of Social networking should
be widely used in Bangladesh if this one becomes
a huge success.
 Thank You For Listening to our presentation.
 If you have any queries then ask away Don‟t
be shy  .
