Professional Experience
INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT, Kolkata, 2001 to date
• Procure minerals – iron ore, limestone and dolomite – from mines in Orissa and Jharkhand and supply
to clients in India and overseas in the steel and steel related industries.
• Procure and supply iron ore fines from various mines and supply to exporters for meeting demands of
international customers.
• The material were selected from various pits of quarries, sampled and then moved to the Rly. Siding in
case the material was to be transported by rakes. In case the material was to be supplied by road, the
,ot was sampled at the mine head and arrangements were made to load the material on trucks and
then move it to the designated ports.
• Handling of the material at the plot at port was also a part of the responsibility in case the order was
on FOB basis.
• Finally the collection of payments was done. In case of an L/C provided by the buyer, the relevant
documents were collected and submitted to the banks for encashment. In case of fund transfer, the
buyer were provided with the documents so that the RTGs could be done by the buyer.
• Provided Consultancy services to BLYTH METALS INDIA PVT LTD, Mumbai, 2004 to 2010.
• Assisted the company in trading in manganese and iron ores on a profit sharing basis, looking after
all techno-commercial aspects like locating suitable mines/suppliers and buyers, finalizing
contracts, execution of orders, collection of payments and statutory compliances.
• Identified suitable good and workable mines meeting the company’s budget and requirements, and
finalized contracts for operating the mines by negotiating terms and conditions, fulfilling all legal
requirements, ensuring quality of the mine’s reserves by assay and testing at reputed laboratories,
advising on infrastructure requirements like roads and weighbridges, assessing and advising on
comprehensive operational costs, ensuring statutory clearances and approvals with necessary
follow-up with government departments and providing continuing support in working the mines.
• Provided Consultancy services to HI TECH SPONGE and MAHINDRA SPONGE, Raipur from 2001 to
2004 in procuring iron ore meeting quality standards for making sponge iron and arranging for testing
of material at the loading point and movement of material by railway rakes to their works at Raipur.

2. SNS MINERALS, Kolkata, 1999 to 2001
General Manager, Marketing
• Was responsible for the sales and marketing of sized limestone and dolomite to iron and steel
companies and burnt lime to aluminium companies.
• Looked after business development, sales, coordination of logistics with Railways for despatch of rake
loads and credit control including timely collection of payments.
• Here, part of the responsibility was also to develop the mines for location of proper pits for ensuring
the proper grade and deposits of material.
• The turnover of the company was to the tune of Rs. 150 to 200 Crores.
• Was reporting to the Managing Director.
VINAR SYSTEMS LTD, Pune, 1996 to 1999.
Project Manager
• Was in charge of the project for the installation of assembly facilities for the Indica car project
of Tata Motors consisting of floor, overhead and slat type conveyors.
• Installed and commissioned conveyors at assembly lines, weld shop, paint shop, under-body shop and
engine and car assembly shops.
• Independently managed the successful installation and commissioning including on-site modifications
as required.
• Coordination with TELCO management for timely execution and collection of payments. Was reporting
to the Director-Technical.

Project Coordinator
• Coordinated the execution of various projects for industrial water treatment plants secured in
coordination with the marketing department.
• Liaised with consultants for freezing the technical parameters, procured erected installed and
commissioned the plants, conducted tests and trial runs, handed over projects to clients and realized
payments as per purchase order terms. This also included ordering of equipments, both fabricated and
bought outs, inspection during the stage wise manufacturing and testing before despatch of
equipments. The fabricated itens were tanks, piping. The boughts were valves indicators electronic
items etc. Finally the testing of the plant as whole after being installed and commissioned and giving a
trial run of the plant to the clients as per the contract. Cicil work was also a part of the project where
foundation and supports were to be made as per the design provided by the consultant and the OEM’s.
• The consultants with whom coordination was done was M.N. Dastur, MECON
• Here I was reporting the Regional Manager at Kolklata and Pune as intra office coordination was
part of the responsibility.
• The turnover of the company was to the tune of Rs. 150 Crores
MODI MIRRLEES BLACKSTONE LTD, Aurangabad (Maharashtra), 1987 to 1992.
Project Engineer
• Was involved the erection and commissioning of a plant to manufacture and assemble DG sets
of 1 to 10 MW capacities. This was a green field project. Initially the coordination was done with the
consultant for designing of civil works and release of drawings for procurement of fabricated and
bought items. This company was formed by Modi Rubber Ltd. In collaboration with Mirrlees Blackstone
of U.K.
• Once the parameters were fixed, floated tenders to various vendors and received and compared the
technical and commercial bids before ordering. Once the orders were placed, stage wise inspection of
these items was also done in coordination with the quality control department. Finally supervising the
despatch of material. Vendor development was also part of the responsibility.
• Looked after the erection and commissioning of EOT cranes, jib cranes, semi-goliath cranes,
compressed air system, water cooling system including pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, lube
oil and fuel oil purifiers, AHU and acoustic facilities, cables, panels etc. for testing DG sets.
• Actively participated in the preparation of documents for obtaining funding from financial institutions
and import licenses from DGTD.
