2. History
McKee was born in 1941 and he was a
creative writing instructor. Robert McKee
began his theatre career at the age of 9,
playing the title role in a community theatre
production.
3. Robert McKee’s Theory
Just like Todorov’s theory of everything being an equal balance,
then something happening to make it unequal and finally problems
are solved; McKee’s theory is the same but has been expanded
more. McKee’s narrative structure is generally described as the
structural framework that underlies the order and manner in which
narrative is presented.
4. The 5 Stages:
1. An inciting incident
2. Progressive complications
3. Crisis
4. Climax
5. Resolution
5. Robert McKee’s Theory
This can be used within my short film by including all the 5
stages to make my film more interesting for the audience. My heroin
my drop her credit card before a man runs past and picks it up
(incident and complication). She may then find out that the card is
being used for a lot of transactions (crisis) before she finds the man
(climax) and gets the card back (resolution).
