POSITION: Senior Wellsite Geologist
TASKS:
 Monitored quality control and reported all subsurface geological activities at the rig site and for accurate
and timely dissemination of reports in accordance with accepted company standard formats and
procedures
 Supervised and monitored mud logging, MWD/LWD (measurement while drilling/logging while drilling)
and Wireline Logging services staff for quality control
 Identified lithologies and picked formation tops, casing points, coring points, and TD criteria
 Performed lithological description of drill cuttings and hydrocarbon evaluation by determining shows,
fluorescence; and interpretation of gas while drilling; ensured the proper preservation and dispatch to the

Geologist every morning followed by afternoon and midnight updates

 Supervised mudlogging, MWD, coring and wireline services crew members, and monitored for quality

 Described cutting samples and visual inspection of samples for oil shows, cementing material, fossils and

 Correlation and interpretation of data using all available information: cutting samples, rate of penetration,
gas/oil shows, LWD, offset wireline logs to re-adjust, as needed, for well plans during drilling.
 Defined and picked formation tops, casing and coring points as well as total depth of the well (TD).
 Monitored sample shipments and logistics, and tracked non-productive geological time
 Described cores and determined coring intervals
 Analyzed, evaluated and described formations whilst drilling using cuttings, gas, FEMWD and wireline log
data advising on drilling hazards and drilling bit optimisation; taking full responsibility for making
decisions about suspending or continuation of drilling
 Participated in providing technical expertise in all areas of geology to optimize exploration, drilling
locations, development and production
