embryos and transferring more than two and
it’s impact on:
1. Results.
2. Risk on pregnancy.
3. Risk on mother.

study including 100 infertile couples in the
period of December 2008 and 1st of June
2009 in two centers in Alexandria city in
Egypt .
4. Group A:
1. 25 females from IFC had ET of 2 or less
embryos.
2. 25 females from Miami center had ET of 2
or less embryos.
Group B:
25 females from each center had ET of more
than 2 embryos.
5. Couples who had primary infertility for more
than 2 years.
Age of the included women 35yrs and less.

6. All transfers under U/S guidance Included
couples were infertile due to:
56% male factor (OAT, Azospermia).
22% mechanical factors (tubal block and
adhesions).
17% unexplained had 3 trials of failed IUI.
5% previous only one failed ICSI.
12. According to the previous mentioned data we
concluded that:
two or less embryos transfer is as effective as
more than two embryos transfer, in addition
to the advantage of absence of risk of more
than twin conception on the mother, fetus
and health system as a whole.
13.
14. We recommend to start elective 1-2 only
embryo transfer to guard against the hazards
of multiple gestation either on the mother or
the pregnancy and even on the health
system.
Further more Single-embryo transfer is
recommended for women under age 35 who
have a good chance of achieving a pregnancy.
15. Couples understand the medical risks of
having triplets, but they are much more
accepting of twin pregnancies,"
"When they do understand the risks they are
often much more accepting of single-embryo
transfer.“

NEWS health.
16. The aim of fertility
treatment must be a
singleton pregnancy and the
birth of a healthy single
child.
