Welcome to the Mobloggy Pinterest 101 Series. This is a brief 6 part series in which we will cover the bare bones of Pinterest. View these slides in video format here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4lrNNx1x2Y
3. Pinterest is a social media site; much like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn.
Pinterest differs from the rest of the social media sites as it aims to be a social
bookmarking platform. These “bookmarks” are represented visually and are “pinned”
to various “boards”.
5. - It is vital to your online presence that you know your
target demographic.
- Creating a precise demographic makes it easier for you to
target that audience
- Research to see what products and services do well on
Pinterest. ie: (home cooking, fashion, do it yourself,
photography…etc)
6. - Did you know females are 80%
of the user base on Pinterest?
- Only 20% of Pinterest users are
male
- Market more easily towards
women on this platform
- You can still target the male
audience on Pinterest, although
it may be significantly harder
than their female counterparts.
7. - Pinterest relies heavily on creating original content, and sharing the content
of others.
- Make sure that 50% of YOUR content needs to be original
- Most content on Pinterest is “repinned” by other users. Make interesting
and informative content for your audience to share with each other.
8.
9. - If people want to know more about your
product, give them more information about
it!
- An example of this would be posting a
cheeseburger recipe, if you’re a restaurant
that specializes in burgers.
