In Pakistan, private limited companies are incorporated under the Companies Ordinance 1984 which is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). The SECP issues an incorporation certificate when all requirements are met by the promoter(s) according to the law. Registering a new company involves five steps - selecting a unique name, obtaining name availability from SECP, deciding the authorized capital, providing NICs of subscribers, and submitting copies of the Memorandum and Articles of Association which define the company's business sector.
