Emily lived and grew up in the U.S.
,Massachusetts,Amherst in a good noble house
by the country side.
When did the poet live?


Emily Dickinson was born in 1830 and passed
away in 1886. Her town was old, peaceful,and
it was not really modern.
Why did the poet write?


Some of her poems are about death because
her friend died and she was shocked about the
horrible news.
She was torn apart from the man who she
loved so she writes sad and lonely poems.
What influenced the poet’s
             writing?



Her sadder poems were influenced by the
death of her friend, Benjamin Newton.
Also, her love poems were influenced by her
love life which was sadly a failure.
Who was the poet and what was her family like?




Her family had many talents, but was strict
about the Bible.
Emily Dickinson was very shy, sad, and
lonely.
What poetic tools or styles is the poet known for?



Known for simple writing, she did not try to
impress others.
She wrote purely from the heart, she did not
want it to be shown to the public.
