RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Predissertation Fieldwork (September 2019 – present)
Conducted preliminary interviews, participant observation, and document analysis for
my dissertation project on religious peacebuilding efforts by the Ahmadiyya Muslim
Community.
Graduate Student Research Assistant (April 2019 – December 2019)
Assisted a team of professors across the University of California system in developing
an online course using a multi-narrative approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I
was a primary contributor in the proposal that was awarded $90,000 by the UC Office
of the President to develop this course. Personal project responsibilities included
developing the 10-week curriculum for the course, building the course page (on
Canvas) with the learning pathway and course materials, coordinating and organizing
the lectures with academic and policy experts.
Graduate Student Research Assistant (February 2017 – March 2018)
Assisted Dr. Heidi Hardt on a project that analyzes mechanisms for gender
mainstreaming in international organizations, and primarily NATO. Personal project
responsibilities included conducting in-person interviews with NATO delegation
representatives across rankings in Brussels, Belgium; wrote and organized literature
reviews to conceptualize the primary variables of interest in the study.
Evidence Assessment Assistant (February 2014 – March 2014; July 2014)
Worked at the International Rescue Committee in New York City to compile and
assess systematic reviews targeting key interventions of interest for the IRC. My focus
was primarily Youth Social and Economic Development, and Access to Justice and
Social Accountability. I was asked to re-join the team for a follow-up project.

An in-depth analysis of the protection mechanisms and gaps within the international
refugee regime, focusing on the lack of protection provided for Iraqi refugees
qualifying for the Special Immigrant Visa program and Palestinian refugees who have
worked with the Israeli government.
Graduate Research Assistant (September 2013 – May 2014)
Assisted the professors, chair, and administrators of the Government and Politics
department at St. John’s University. Personal responsibilities included data analysis
for professors’ research, and serving as interim instructor for the Undergraduate
Research Methods course.

Worked for the Olive Tree Initiative at UC Irvine, which is an experiential learning
educational program that engages students in a multi-narrative approach to conflict
analysis. Personal responsibilities included: teaching the education sessions to prepare
students for the summer trip; serving as staff on the 3-week experiential learning trip to
Israel and Palestine; facilitated collaborative discussions and reflections during and
after the trip; mentoring students on ongoing research projects and future career paths.
