Society pressures people to conform from a young age by molding them to fit expectations and obey authorities without question. It discourages independent thinking and hiding weaknesses. Specifically, it encourages accepting the majority opinion without thinking for oneself, pretending to be superhuman by hiding struggles, having life figured out by certain ages, pursuing college regardless of passions, accumulating wealth, and pleasing others by always saying yes. However, one should not blindly follow societal pressures but instead live according to their own values and terms.
1. Society was set out to
mold your life
immediately after you
came into the world. It
starts right from the
parents (blessed are you
if you were born into a
moral home), school
follow suit then your
work environment.
Everything was designed
for you to follow without
complaining and to fit
into other peopleâs
expectations of you.
Truly, society only wants
you to conform to the
status quo, obey the
rules, and hide your
weaknesses, never to
have a mind of your own
in order to be controlled and never to question authorities.
Society has another plan for you which is mostly not favorable and unproductive in life.
1. To accept majority opinion:
Never Follow Majority
People think and believe that something is true because the majority of people think itâs
true. You hear words like thisâ Go along with the majority, do what most others are doingâ
This is totally wrong because what works for you might not work for another. Make your
own decisionâdon't just follow the crowd. It is wrong to make a decision, depending upon
the majority. A person must not follow the crowd. People use to follow the majority
because of safety, as they rely upon the decision of the masses and do not use their own
THE HARD TRUTH ABOUT SOCIETY THAT WE TILL IGNORE
SOCIETY
2. brains. This is also a case of the human mind. Our brain usually finds safety in choosing the
things which are liked by most people. Morality is not by consensus, but there are absolute
values and principles of right and wrong which are objective, universal, timeless, and
transcendent. God cares a lot about right and wrong and gave us all a moral compass or
conscience to know and detect all that.
2. Be a Superman /Woman, hide your weakness, depression, and anxiety:
Superhuman
Depression is not a joke. In our society, it is thought that there is no existence of
depression. They poke at the people who say they are worried or depressed. It seems that
every year, we lose a few famous people and millions of others to mental illness, and the
hard thing about this fact is this: if you ask people who are close to depressed people, they
would say, âI did not know he or she was depressed.
Social stigma has made people struggle in silence. Most of the people who complain about
their mental illness have been blamed for their condition. This stigma prevents people from
seeking the help they deserve or talking freely about their struggles. So, if you are going
through a tough time, find someone to talk to or message me
(mimimikky2000@gmail.com). Know that God is in control. Whatever is troubling you is
not too big to handle if you turn it over to God and allow Him to help you.
3. To understand life at a certain age:
3. Human Evolution
The illusion which was meant to be till this day is that humans are to figure out about life at
a certain age. Society expects you to be living alone by now, married, graduated from
college, have children, and have millions of other expectations making most people to live
in regret not meeting up the social norms. Ultimately itâs important to realize that itâs all an
illusion. A big façade in which everyone appears to be living comfortably. Hereâs the honest
truth: nobody has life all figured out. . Do not listen to them, be YOU â live life on your
terms, not their terms
4, Go to College:
College
We have been conditioned to believe that college is a requirement for a good life from an
early age. Entrepreneurs like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Dell are among the
richest people in the world who dropped out of college to pursue their
4. passion. Interestingly, their success often cannot be attributed to where they have studied.
There are many billionaires who did not finish their studies in college. While some of these
famous folks never went to college, several dropped out after they found their true calling.
The idea thing is if you know what you want to do, and it does not need a degree go for that
and forget about college. The school system was designed to produce obedient workers,
obedient citizens, etc. So if your desire is to be an entrepreneur, all of these things will
harm your chances. So be a dreamer, dream crazy dreams, and go to work because
dreaming without acting or working on it will never become a brand.
5. Accumulate Material Things:
Wealth
Society conditioned us to search for happiness by accumulating more stuff or comparing
ourselves with our neighbors or peer groups. Hear this!!! No matter how much amount of
wealth you acquire it will not give you long-term contentment or joy. Stop following the
masses. Social media should not be your yardstick of measuring your wealth. Donât forget
that we all have a different time to shine. Comparison is the killer of joy but if you must
compare, compare yourself with yourself.
5. 6. Say yes to Everyone:
Stop Saying Yes
Stop saying yes to everything and everyone. Stop accepting peopleâs opinions in order not
to offend them. You're not a pushover. Godâs purpose for creating you wasnât for you to
please men and leave miserable so others can relax and be happy (at your expense). People
can push you around if you allow them, decide to stop saying yes to people and situations
that donât support your well-being. Instead, say yes to your happiness, and yes to your
growth, and yes to all the people and things that inspire you to be authentic and whole.
Start protecting your time and your happiness. If others can't handle it, show them the
door. Kick them out of your life and don't look back.
Setting boundaries is an important part of establishing oneâs identity and is a crucial aspect
of mental health and well-being so establish your boundaries, define your emotional and
mental space, and not let people cross these boundaries.
