A kayak roll (often referred to as an
Eskimo roll) is the act of righting a
capsized kayak by use of body motion
or a paddle. Typically this is done by
lifting the torso towards the surface,
flicking the hips to right the kayak, and
applying a small force by means of the
paddle to assist the torso back over the
boat.

Olympics
• Olympics has merged Kayak and
canoe competitions. Because they
have very similar histories and tales
about how they particularly became
possibly the best types of competition,
to achieve the Olympics. Kayaking is
normally between 500 and 1000 meters
in length in the Olympic Games. But
from 1936-1956 there were instances
of 10 km of kayaking races.
• Kayak races were introduced in the
Berlin Olympic Games in 1936.
