2. Bottle Top Dispenser
Bottle top dispenser or BTD, is a common laboratory instrument,
found in labs around the world. BTDs play an important role when
it comes to dispensing a specified amount of reagent/ chemical to
carry out experiments that require high precision liquid handling.
Industries ranging from Pharmaceutical and Healthcare to Life
Sciences and Biotechnology use BTDs for their great aid in
facilitating efficient liquid handling operations.
3. MICROLIT ULTIMUS
MICROLIT ULTIMUS is a BTD that offers a sophisticated blend
of features and functionality.
Built by our in-house team of product design engineers, it uses
Dual Inlet™, an award- winning technology patented in India, the
EU & the US.
ULTIMUS is the First Ever Dispenser which offers four modes of
dispensing in a single unit: Dilution, Rinsing, Dual Liquid
Handling and Re-circulation. This is a new technology for the
world. The existing Bottle Top Dispensers available in the world
have only single inlet from the bottle on which the instrument is
mounted. ULTIMUS has dual inlet. This allows flow of liquid from
two separate sources independently.
4. Design Features
• EasyKnob™: A specially designed volume adjustment knob that
allows 180° rotation for easy and effortless volume setting.
• PTFE Piston: The piston of this instrument is made up of PTFE &
has an ETP O-Ring. This facilitates smooth and effortless
movement and ensures high chemical compatibility.
• Dual Inlet™: The award winning patented dualt inlet technology
enables 4 liquid handling modes without dismounting the
dispenser.
• FlexiNozzle™: The adjustable delivery nozzle offers a high
degree of flexibility, facilitating easy dispensing in demanding
laboratory conditions.
5. Ordinary BTD V/S ULTIMUS
A.) RINSING
• Ordinary dispenser: For rinsing the instrument, the user has to dismount the instrument from
the reagent bottle, re-mount it on distilled water bottle, perform rinsing and then again mount
the instrument back on to the reagent bottle.
• ULTIMUS – Bottle Top Dispenser: The user can perform rinsing just by changing
(opening/closing) knobs of the instrument which connect and disconnect the primary
(reagent) bottle and secondary (distilled) bottle.
B.) DILUTION
• Ordinary dispenser: To dilute a chemical/ reagent, the user has to dismount the instrument
from the reagent bottle, re-mount it on distilled water bottle, perform dilution and then again
mount the instrument back on to the reagent bottle.
• ULTIMUS – Bottle Top Dispenser: The user can perform dilution just by changing
(opening/closing) knobs of the instrument which connect and disconnect the primary
(reagent) bottle and secondary (distilled) bottle.
6. Ordinary BTD V/S ULTIMUS
C.) BOTTLE RE-FILLING and DUAL LIQUID DISPENSING
• Ordinary dispenser: To re-fill the reagent bottle, the dispenser has to be first dismounted from
the empty reagent bottle and then the bottle has to be filled and after this the instrument has
to be mounted again on the filled reagent bottle.
The same process has to be followed for performing dual liquid dispensing.
• ULTIMUS – Bottle Top Dispenser: Using ULTIMUS - the user can simply connect the source
bottle with the second inlet of the instrument and perform the re-filling operation without any
dismounting and re-mounting of the instrument on the reagent bottle.
For the dual liquid dispensing, the second inlet can be connected with a different reagent bottle
and then the action can be performed.

In this mode, the
dispenser dispenses
the liquid normally into
the receiver from the
bottle it is mounted on.
In this mode, the liquid is re-
circulated into the same bottle
on which the dispenser is
mounted. This process removes
the air from the dispenser,
without wasting any reagent.
In this mode, the liquid from a second
source can be dispensed into the
receiver. The second liquid can be
distilled water, thus allowing the user to
rinse the instrument without dismounting
it or dilute the reagent within the receiver.
In this mode, the liquid
from a second source
can be used to refill the
bottle, without
dismounting the
dispenser.
9. Salient Features
• A specially designed adapter allows 360° rotation, facilitating
complete work flexibility.
• MICROLIT ULTIMUS is calibrated in an ISO 17025 accredited
laboratory according to ISO 8655 standards. A calibration
certificate is included inside the product package. A calibration
tool is also included for quick in-lab recalibration.
• MICROLIT ULTIMUS is fully autoclavable at 121 °C and 15 psi
for a duration of 10-15 minutes.
• MICROLIT ULTIMUS is available in 6 unique volume ranges.
10. Client Success Story
• Our client, Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR),
is primarily involved with the R&D of toxicants and pollutants.
• Its work pertains to the Analytical Chemistry division and
involves testing of different analytes.
• It has been using MICROLIT ULTIMUS. Scientists at CSIR-IITR
feel that the BTD is very convenient and safe to use for
frequent dispensing. The team members also informed us that
it is a great update from their previous tool(s) for dispensing
concentrated Sulphuric acid and Nitric acid used in the
digestion of different samples for multi-metal determination.
• We were happy to hear from them that MICROLIT ULTIMUS
efficiently works with 10 to 20 samples in a single day and
performs effortless dispensing.
11. Client Success Story
• Users of MICROLIT ULTIMUS at CSIR-IITR have discovered
some innovative multi-solvent derivation techniques which
they are currently using.
• While praising the accuracy and sturdy design of the BTD,
they expressed how it has helped in providing better results
for the digestion of samples.
• After 6 months of regular usage at the CSIR-IITR, our BTD
has succeeded in giving us a satisfied customer yet again.
