Investigative Specialist (IS) (2012-2015)

Surveillance operations specialist involved in static observations interrupted by periods of frenetic activity with the
ability to exhibit considerable patience and demonstrating the most detail observation skills while responding
appropriately to any situation. IS is assigned to cases that may extend for indefinite periods of time to gain considerable
familiarity of the subjects or individuals of interest. IS collects intelligence data to support counterterrorism,
counterintelligence and criminal investigations reported in detailed writings and log entries.
IS must conduct covert surveillance operations and missions utilizing constant situational awareness. Evidence and
intelligence data is gather utilizing available resources such as telecommunications equipment, audiovisual recording
devices and vehicles to maintain constant observation. IS must be able to design and implement a surveillance strategy
to gather intelligence data. IS provides fixed and mobile surveillance support as a highly trained professional and is a
critical component of national security and investigation operations deploying a wide range and variety of surveillance
techniques. IS must, over time, develop and implement individual specific tradecraft to counter other foreign
intelligence agencies and officers, notwithstanding, terrorist organizations and terrorists both foreign and domestic. IS
continues training and proficiency while maintaining up-to-date current national events and world situations.
Supervisory Investigative Specialist (SIS) (2010-2012)
Supervisory Journeyman
SIS serves as the team leader for the Mobile Surveillance Team (MST) program in the Louisville, KY field office and
is responsible for all aspects of surveillance operations from planning and organization through coordination and
execution. SIS is responsible for the collection, analysis and dissemination of intelligence data gathered during
surveillance operations. SIS also assigns work to subordinate members of the MST based on priorities, time constraints
and selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignment.
Other collateral duties for SIS include, but are not limited to, budget strategy, office creation, leadership in the field and
office, offsite acquisition, vehicle and equipment purchasing, six month reports, temporary duty assignments planning
and coordinating, hiring, interviews, log reviews, time and attendance approval, weekly supervisors meetings and
briefings, liaison with FBI heads and leaders, report MST successes of missions, mission needs and mission sensitive or
critical intelligence.

Chemical Dependency Counsellor (CDC)
CDC through individual and group counseling, assists clients in mobilizing their resources so they can participate in the
exploration of a problem and its ramifications. Considers clients’ attitudes and feelings and develops alternative
solutions to support informed decision making. Becomes proficient in and adheres to the hospital’s treatment
philosophy which incorporates CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Contingency Management, and self-help meetings.

curriculum. Maintains familiarity with community resources and their limitations, the procedures for making referrals,
and the confidentiality requirements inherent to the referral process so that community resources are used to benefit

case reviews, group supervision, individual case reviews, teachbacks, role plays and unsuccessful case reviews.
Maintains contact with referring professionals and seeks assistance in matters that exceed the Counselor’s level of
expertise and/or scope of practice. Signs off on treatment plans and assessments for staff that are in a training status.
Identifies program needs and suggests improvements to the Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Administrator and/or Clinical
Director. Acts as a resource to “team” members. Assists the Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Administrator, and/or
Clinical Director in managing staffing adjustments. Effectively acts as a representative of the hospital at court and
community proceedings. Manages time and organizes work demands appropriately. Maintains ability to type/use
computer and all programs implemented by the hospital including, but not limited to, those maintaining electronic
health records. Navigates internet effectively to search for accurate criminal history of clients for verifications.
Continues professional training and stays current in professional development. Maintains licensure and/or certification
required for job assignment.
Mental Health Technician (MHT)
MHT helps to admit and discharge patients, maintain close contact with them, and monitor vital signs such as heart rate
and blood pressure. They observe patient behaviors, record their conditions and lead them in therapeutic and
recreational activities. These technicians might consult with doctors and other mental health professionals, often as part
of a team that includes social workers and therapists. If patients become physically violent, mental health technicians
may restrain them. They also help with daily living, such as eating, dressing and bathing.
