The top 5 tips on making sure your lawn is
fully prepared before the leaves start
falling
By: Michael Abbaspour
2. Presentation Objective
The objective of these slides is to provide you with
actionable steps and tips to make sure you are fully
prepared to deal with mid-fall.
When I say mid-fall, I mean that 1-2 month window in the
middle of the season when all of the trees begin to lose
their leaves at a maddening rate.
To further clarify, these are meant to be a checklist of
sorts to make sure you take care of any last-minute tasks
you had wanted to in late summer, early fall. Otherwise,
you will lose your opportunity as these become much
more difficult and next-to-impossible once mid-fall
arrives.

5. Tips ForRemoving Existing Leaves
• When up against a bigger pile of leaves, or an area where you
have less mobility (against a fence, inside a garage, etc.), a tarp
becomes your best friend. In these types of instances, a blower
will slow you down.
Use aTarp
• Wet leaves are a NIGHTMARE.They’re much harder to remove
due to the absorbed moisture increasing the leaves density. If
you can maneuver and plan your leaf clean-ups around the rain,
it would save you potential headaches.
Wet Leaves Are the
Worst
• You need to consistently clean-up the leaves in your yard.
During mid-fall the trees lose their leaves like they’re on a
mission and they build-up ridiculously fast. If you let it go for
too long, it will get to the point where you will spend way more
time cleaning than you normally would have
Be Consistent
• For this time of the year, it’s in your best interest to get the
highest-quality rake you can find. Rakes are very fragile, and
when up against leaves, you need something sturdy that can
handle the upcoming battles.
Don’t Buy a Cheap
Rake
