Everything You Need to Know About Diabetes
Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, lower-limb amputations, and new cases of
blindness among adults in the United States, according to the American Diabetes Association.
This disease also increases your risk of heart disease, stroke, depression, and some cancers.
However, diabetes doesn’t have to be a death sentence, if you are proactive about your
diagnosis and lifestyle choices.
Understanding Diabetes
Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects how your body turns food into energy. Most of the
food you eat is broken down into sugar (also called glucose) and released into your
bloodstream. Your pancreas makes a hormone called insulin, which is like a key that helps
sugar from food get into your cells to be used for energy.
If you have diabetes, your body either doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t use its own insulin
as well as it should. When there isn’t enough insulin or the insulin isn’t working properly, too
much sugar stays in your blood. Over time, having too much sugar in your blood can cause
serious problems with your heart, eyes, kidneys, nerves, and gums and teeth.
There are two main types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is an autoimmune disorder
where the immune system attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, preventing them from
making any insulin at all. In type 2 diabetes, people can still produce some insulin but their
bodies don’t respond to it as they should or their bodies stop producing enough insulin over
time.
There are different symptoms for both types: For people with type 1 diabetes, symptoms include
increased thirst, frequent urination and weight loss because they don't have enough sugar in
their blood. People with type 2 diabetes may not show any symptoms for many years after the
disease starts. Symptoms for this group might include high blood pressure, high cholesterol
levels, and feeling tired most of the time. It's important to know these symptoms so you can get
treatment before your health gets worse.

Type 1 vs. Type 2 Diabetics
Type 1 diabetes is when your body doesn’t produce insulin. Type 2 diabetes is when your body
doesn’t use insulin properly. Both types of diabetes can lead to high blood sugar levels, which
can damage your organs and cause other health problems.
Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, while type 2 diabetes is
more common in adults. However, both types of diabetes can occur at any age.
There is no cure for either type of diabetes, but treatments are available to help manage the
disease. With proper treatment, people with either type of diabetes can live long, healthy lives. If
you have been diagnosed with diabetes, it is important to visit your doctor regularly and follow
their instructions.
Do you have any questions about diabetes? If so, please comment below! I will answer all of
them as soon as I am able.
1) How do I know if I have diabetes?
2) What should I do if I suspect that my child has diabetes?
3) How is type 1 diabetes different from type 2 diabetes?
4) Is there a way to reverse my diagnosis of diabetes? No, but you can take steps to control
your condition by eating well, exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy weight.
5) Are diet sodas safe? Research shows that drinking diet soda does not affect someone's risk
of developing diabetes or heart disease.
6) Can I still drink alcohol if I have diabetes? Yes! However, limit yourself to one drink per day
(or less).
7) What is gestational diabetes?
ManagingDiabetic Burnout
Diabetic burnout is a real thing. And it happens to the best of us. Here are seven things you
should know about managing diabetic burnout:
1. First and foremost, diabetic burnout is normal. Don't beat yourself up about it.
2. Second, burnout can happen when you feel like you're not in control of your diabetes. This
can be due to a number of factors, including medications, stress, and other life events.
3. Third, burned out diabetics often feel like they're failing at managing their diabetes. This can
lead to feelings of guilt and shame.
4. Fourth, diabetic burnout can lead to depression and anxiety. It's important to remember that
this isn't your fault.
5. Fifth, it's important to take care of yourself while going through diabetic burnout because too
much self-care could mean neglecting your health or needs. Remember that this too shall pass.
6. Sixth, there are steps you can take to manage diabetic burnout such as talking with a
counselor or therapist, adding more physical activity into your routine, giving back to others, or
simply taking time for yourself every day.
Seventh, if you suspect someone close to you might be experiencing diabetic burnout, talk with
them about how they're feeling and what they need. They might not even realize it themselves.

Monitoring Insulin Levels
It's important to monitor your insulin levels when you have diabetes. Insulin is a hormone that
helps the body use glucose for energy. When you have diabetes, your body doesn't make
enough insulin or can't use it properly.
This can cause high blood sugar levels. To help control your blood sugar levels, you may need
to take insulin injections or pills, or use an insulin pump. You also need to be careful about what
you eat and drink, and how much physical activity you do. When you're sick with a cold or flu,
don't exercise right away. Wait until you're feeling better and ask your doctor first before
exercising if:
-You had symptoms of low blood sugar such as feeling shaky, nervous, dizzy, lightheaded,
weak or confused
-You feel any other symptoms like chest pain or trouble breathing
-Your level of dehydration is severe (inability to produce urine)
-You've been sick for more than 2 weeks
If any of these conditions are present when you start execising again after being sick with a cold
or flu, stop immediately and get medical attention. Always tell your doctor if you have diabetes
and they'll help determine whether you should exercise. With good planning, work closely with
your doctor, and keep tabs on all medications needed to maintain healthy blood sugar levels,
living well with diabetes is possible!
When it comes to physical activity, type 1 diabetics need to be aware that insulin is an energy
source for muscles too. Without insulin, there won't be enough energy for working out efficiently.
While exercising regularly can boost metabolism by about 5 percent (so maintaining weight loss
becomes easier), that doesn't mean you should try pushing yourself right away—you may end
up with serious complications due to hypoglycemia, like passing out or even losing
consciousness completely!
As a result of severe hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), some people might even develop
neuropathy that can lead to further complications in other areas like cognition and nerve
damage.

Living with Relatives who are Diabetic
It can be difficult to watch your loved ones suffer from diabetes. Here are some tips on how to
support your relatives who have this condition:
1. Educate yourself about the disease. The more you know, the better you can help them
manage it.
2. Help with meal planning and preparation. This includes making sure they eat a balanced diet
and getting rid of any trigger foods that may cause a spike in blood sugar levels.
3. Exercise with them or encourage them to stay active. This is important for both physical and
mental health.
4. Be there for emotional support. Talk to them when they feel down and remind them why life is
worth living. There will be times when they'll need encouragement just as much as someone
without diabetes.
5. Get involved in their care by checking their feet daily and checking their urine for ketones (a
sign of diabetic ketoacidosis). Taking care of their feet also reduces the risk of diabetic foot
ulcers which can lead to amputation.
6. Make adjustments at home so it's easier for people with diabetes to live independently.
Adjusting counter heights, installing grab bars, providing a non-slip mat in the shower etc., all
make life easier if you're living with type I or type II diabetes. Living with diabetes isn't easy but
having a strong support system makes all the difference.
Diabetes is a lifelong chronic illness where high blood glucose levels can result in serious long
term consequences such as kidney failure, blindness, heart attack and stroke. More than 29
million Americans currently have diabetes but one in four don't even know they have it yet! What
does that mean? They don't realize the risks of uncontrolled high blood glucose and do not
receive treatment because they don't know what symptoms to look out for.

Exercise and Diet are key!
When it comes to diabetes, exercise and diet are key! By maintaining a healthy weight and
getting regular exercise, you can help keep your blood sugar levels in check. Plus, eating a
healthy diet can help you control your blood sugar levels and manage your diabetes.
Here are some tips for eating healthy with diabetes
1) Be aware of the carbohydrate content of food: Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose
which is the main source of energy for our body. So, carbohydrates have an impact on our
blood sugar levels.
Read nutrition labels carefully to see how many grams of carbohydrates per serving size you’re
consuming and make sure that your total intake stays within the recommended range (30-60%
of total calories).
Remember that fiber-rich foods like vegetables, whole grains, fruits and beans also contain
carbohydrates but they may not raise your blood sugar as much as other types of foods such as
breads or potatoes.
2) Keep track of your insulin dosages: If you use insulin, be sure to talk with your doctor about
adjusting your dosage if you eat more or less than usual. It’s also important to monitor how often
you inject insulin based on what you eat and the activity level of each day
3) Take medication as prescribed: Some medications must be taken at specific times during the
day while others should be taken before meals. Your doctor will discuss this with you so make
sure to ask questions if something seems unclear
4) Drink plenty of fluids: Drinking enough water every day helps maintain blood pressure and
reduce dehydration.

The complications of uncontrolled diabetes
Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to a number of complications, including heart disease, stroke,
kidney disease, blindness, and amputation. All of these complications are serious and can be
life-threatening. That's why it's so important to keep your blood sugar under control. If you have
diabetes, you need to work with your healthcare team to create a plan for managing your
diabetes.
This plan should include regular check-ups, blood sugar testing, and making healthy lifestyle
choices. In addition, people with diabetes may need medications to help them manage their
blood sugar levels. For example, there are pills that help regulate the body's response to
glucose and insulin secretion from the pancreas.
One type of medication is an oral medication called metformin which helps improve the body’s
response to insulin in order to lower blood glucose levels. A different type of medication called
exenatide (brand name Byetta) is given as a daily injection or in an extended release form as a
pill once or twice daily.
There are also devices that help monitor your blood sugar at home such as continuous glucose
monitors (CGMs). These sensors inserted just below the skin measure your blood sugar every
five minutes 24 hours a day. The sensor transmits this information wirelessly to a receiver you
wear on your belt or carry with you that lets you know when your blood sugar levels are too high
or too low. You don't need finger sticks any more!
The first step in controlling diabetes is talking about it. Ask your doctor how to talk about
diabetes with friends, family members, and coworkers. Ask your doctor what questions they
want you to ask and what information they want you to share. Talking openly about diabetes will
make it easier for others to understand how best to support you.
You might find that some people feel awkward or uncomfortable talking about something they
don't understand or know much about. It's up to you whether or not this bothers you. Asking
someone who has expressed discomfort if they'd like some reading material on the subject can
be helpful. It may be difficult having conversations when emotions are running high but
remember that having conversations won't necessarily make things worse - sometimes it can
actually help ease tension if everyone feels heard and understood

Medical Marijuana for diabetics?
With the legalization of medical marijuana in many states, some people with diabetes are
wondering if this natural remedy can help them manage their condition. While there is not yet
any scientific evidence to support this claim, some people say that using marijuana has helped
them lower their blood sugar levels. If you are considering trying medical marijuana, be sure to
talk to your doctor first, as it can interact with other medications you may be taking for your
diabetes. It's also important to keep in mind that no matter what type of treatment you choose,
lifestyle changes and proper diet remain essential parts of managing diabetes.
When paired with a healthy diet and exercise plan, many patients find that cannabis use helps
them lose weight and control cravings.
If you're interested in trying out cannabis for yourself, remember that it's always important to
start off slowly! For diabetics who decide to try cannabis, we recommend starting with a low
dose before gradually increasing until desired effects are achieved.
There are several ways to take medical marijuana such as smoking or vaporizing, eating
edibles, or drinking tea. Smoking should only be done by people who smoke regularly, so it
might not be the best option for new users. Vaporizing offers a less intense experience and
allows those with respiratory issues like asthma to avoid smoke-related irritants.
Eating edibles is another great way to get started because they offer more variety than smoking
or vaporizing; however, beware of the dosage when eating cannabis infused foods because
they can easily cause overconsumption if too much THC is ingested at once.

  • 1. Everything You Need to Know About Diabetes Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, lower-limb amputations, and new cases of blindness among adults in the United States, according to the American Diabetes Association. This disease also increases your risk of heart disease, stroke, depression, and some cancers. However, diabetes doesn’t have to be a death sentence, if you are proactive about your diagnosis and lifestyle choices. Understanding Diabetes Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects how your body turns food into energy. Most of the food you eat is broken down into sugar (also called glucose) and released into your bloodstream. Your pancreas makes a hormone called insulin, which is like a key that helps sugar from food get into your cells to be used for energy. If you have diabetes, your body either doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t use its own insulin as well as it should. When there isn’t enough insulin or the insulin isn’t working properly, too much sugar stays in your blood. Over time, having too much sugar in your blood can cause serious problems with your heart, eyes, kidneys, nerves, and gums and teeth. There are two main types of diabetes: type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, preventing them from making any insulin at all. In type 2 diabetes, people can still produce some insulin but their bodies don’t respond to it as they should or their bodies stop producing enough insulin over time. There are different symptoms for both types: For people with type 1 diabetes, symptoms include increased thirst, frequent urination and weight loss because they don't have enough sugar in their blood. People with type 2 diabetes may not show any symptoms for many years after the

It's important to know these symptoms so you can get treatment before your health gets worse. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS OUR EASY CURE FOR DIABETICS WITHIN A WEEK. Type 1 vs. Type 2 Diabetics Type 1 diabetes is when your body doesn’t produce insulin. Type 2 diabetes is when your body doesn’t use insulin properly. Both types of diabetes can lead to high blood sugar levels, which can damage your organs and cause other health problems. Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, while type 2 diabetes is more common in adults. However, both types of diabetes can occur at any age. There is no cure for either type of diabetes, but treatments are available to help manage the disease. With proper treatment, people with either type of diabetes can live long, healthy lives. If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, it is important to visit your doctor regularly and follow their instructions. Do you have any questions about diabetes? If so, please comment below! • 3. Diabetic burnout is a real thing. And it happens to the best of us. Here are seven things you should know about managing diabetic burnout: 1. First and foremost, diabetic burnout is normal. Don't beat yourself up about it. 2. Second, burnout can happen when you feel like you're not in control of your diabetes. This can be due to a number of factors, including medications, stress, and other life events. 3. Third, burned out diabetics often feel like they're failing at managing their diabetes. This can lead to feelings of guilt and shame. 4. Fourth, diabetic burnout can lead to depression and anxiety. It's important to remember that this isn't your fault. 5. Fifth, it's important to take care of yourself while going through diabetic burnout because too much self-care could mean neglecting your health or needs. Remember that this too shall pass. 6. Sixth, there are steps you can take to manage diabetic burnout such as talking with a counselor or therapist, adding more physical activity into your routine, giving back to others, or simply taking time for yourself every day. Seventh, if you suspect someone close to you might be experiencing diabetic burnout, talk with them about how they're feeling and what they need. They might not even realize it themselves. • 4. It's important to monitor your insulin levels when you have diabetes. Insulin is a hormone that helps the body use glucose for energy. When you have diabetes, your body doesn't make enough insulin or can't use it properly. This can cause high blood sugar levels. To help control your blood sugar levels, you may need to take insulin injections or pills, or use an insulin pump. You also need to be careful about what you eat and drink, and how much physical activity you do. When you're sick with a cold or flu, don't exercise right away. Wait until you're feeling better and ask your doctor first before exercising if: -You had symptoms of low blood sugar such as feeling shaky, nervous, dizzy, lightheaded, weak or confused -You feel any other symptoms like chest pain or trouble breathing -Your level of dehydration is severe (inability to produce urine) -You've been sick for more than 2 weeks If any of these conditions are present when you start execising again after being sick with a cold or flu, stop immediately and get medical attention. Always tell your doctor if you have diabetes and they'll help determine whether you should exercise. With good planning, work closely with your doctor, and keep tabs on all medications needed to maintain healthy blood sugar levels, living well with diabetes is possible! When it comes to physical activity, type 1 diabetics need to be aware that insulin is an energy source for muscles too. Without insulin, there won't be enough energy for working out efficiently. While exercising regularly can boost metabolism by about 5 percent (so maintaining weight loss becomes easier), that doesn't mean you should try pushing yourself right away—you may end up with serious complications due to hypoglycemia, like passing out or even losing consciousness completely!
  • 5. As a result of severe hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), some people might even develop neuropathy that can lead to further complications in other areas like cognition and nerve damage. Here are some tips on how to support your relatives who have this condition: 1. Educate yourself about the disease. The more you know, the better you can help them manage it. 2. Help with meal planning and preparation. This includes making sure they eat a balanced diet and getting rid of any trigger foods that may cause a spike in blood sugar levels. 3. Exercise with them or encourage them to stay active. This is important for both physical and mental health. 4. Be there for emotional support. Talk to them when they feel down and remind them why life is worth living. There will be times when they'll need encouragement just as much as someone without diabetes. 5. Get involved in their care by checking their feet daily and checking their urine for ketones (a sign of diabetic ketoacidosis). Taking care of their feet also reduces the risk of diabetic foot ulcers which can lead to amputation. 6. Make adjustments at home so it's easier for people with diabetes to live independently. Adjusting counter heights, installing grab bars, providing a non-slip mat in the shower etc., all make life easier if you're living with type I or type II diabetes. Living with diabetes isn't easy but having a strong support system makes all the difference. Diabetes is a lifelong chronic illness where high blood glucose levels can result in serious long term consequences such as kidney failure, blindness, heart attack and stroke. More than 29 million Americans currently have diabetes but one in four don't even know they have it yet! What does that mean? They don't realize the risks of uncontrolled high blood glucose and do not receive treatment because they don't know what symptoms to look out for. By maintaining a healthy weight and getting regular exercise, you can help keep your blood sugar levels in check. Plus, eating a healthy diet can help you control your blood sugar levels and manage your diabetes.
  • 6. Here are some tips for eating healthy with diabetes 1) Be aware of the carbohydrate content of food: Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose which is the main source of energy for our body. So, carbohydrates have an impact on our blood sugar levels. Read nutrition labels carefully to see how many grams of carbohydrates per serving size you’re consuming and make sure that your total intake stays within the recommended range (30-60% of total calories). Remember that fiber-rich foods like vegetables, whole grains, fruits and beans also contain carbohydrates but they may not raise your blood sugar as much as other types of foods such as breads or potatoes. 2) Keep track of your insulin dosages: If you use insulin, be sure to talk with your doctor about adjusting your dosage if you eat more or less than usual. It’s also important to monitor how often you inject insulin based on what you eat and the activity level of each day 3) Take medication as prescribed: Some medications must be taken at specific times during the day while others should be taken before meals. Your doctor will discuss this with you so make sure to ask questions if something seems unclear 4) Drink plenty of fluids: Drinking enough water every day helps maintain blood pressure and reduce dehydration. • 7. Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to a number of complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness, and amputation. All of these complications are serious and can be life-threatening. That's why it's so important to keep your blood sugar under control. If you have diabetes, you need to work with your healthcare team to create a plan for managing your diabetes. This plan should include regular check-ups, blood sugar testing, and making healthy lifestyle choices. In addition, people with diabetes may need medications to help them manage their blood sugar levels. For example, there are pills that help regulate the body's response to glucose and insulin secretion from the pancreas. One type of medication is an oral medication called metformin which helps improve the body’s response to insulin in order to lower blood glucose levels. A different type of medication called exenatide (brand name Byetta) is given as a daily injection or in an extended release form as a pill once or twice daily. There are also devices that help monitor your blood sugar at home such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). These sensors inserted just below the skin measure your blood sugar every five minutes 24 hours a day. The sensor transmits this information wirelessly to a receiver you wear on your belt or carry with you that lets you know when your blood sugar levels are too high or too low. You don't need finger sticks any more! The first step in controlling diabetes is talking about it. Ask your doctor how to talk about diabetes with friends, family members, and coworkers. Ask your doctor what questions they want you to ask and what information they want you to share. Talking openly about diabetes will make it easier for others to understand how best to support you. You might find that some people feel awkward or uncomfortable talking about something they don't understand or know much about. It's up to you whether or not this bothers you. Asking someone who has expressed discomfort if they'd like some reading material on the subject can be helpful. It may be difficult having conversations when emotions are running high but remember that having conversations won't necessarily make things worse - sometimes it can actually help ease tension if everyone feels heard and understood CLICK HERE TO ACCESS OUR EASY CURE FOR DIABETICS WITHIN A WEEK. Medical Marijuana for diabetics? With the legalization of medical marijuana in many states, some people with diabetes are wondering if this natural remedy can help them manage their condition. While there is not yet any scientific evidence to support this claim, some people say that using marijuana has helped them lower their blood sugar levels. If you are considering trying medical marijuana, be sure to talk to your doctor first, as it can interact with other medications you may be taking for your diabetes. It's also important to keep in mind that no matter what type of treatment you choose, lifestyle changes and proper diet remain essential parts of managing diabetes.
  • 8. When paired with a healthy diet and exercise plan, many patients find that cannabis use helps them lose weight and control cravings. If you're interested in trying out cannabis for yourself, remember that it's always important to start off slowly! For diabetics who decide to try cannabis, we recommend starting with a low dose before gradually increasing until desired effects are achieved. There are several ways to take medical marijuana such as smoking or vaporizing, eating edibles, or drinking tea. Smoking should only be done by people who smoke regularly, so it might not be the best option for new users. Vaporizing offers a less intense experience and allows those with respiratory issues like asthma to avoid smoke-related irritants. Eating edibles is another great way to get started because they offer more variety than smoking or vaporizing; however, beware of the dosage when eating cannabis infused foods because they can easily cause overconsumption if too much THC is ingested at once.
