2. Our Operations
PBI Bank, Inc. is a Kentucky-based, community-focused financial institution with headquarters in Louisville, Ky. Through a
network of banking centers across the Commonwealth, we provide our communities with a broad range of high-quality retail
and business banking services and deeply personal customer relationships.
Our markets include metropolitan Louisville in Jefferson County and the surrounding counties of Henry and Bullitt, and
extend south along the Interstate 65 corridor. We serve south central Kentucky and southern Kentucky with banking centers in
Butler, Green, Hart, Edmonson, Barren, Warren, Ohio, and Daviess counties. We also have a banking center in Lexington, the
second largest city in Kentucky.
Our History
While the PBI Bank brand dates back to 2005 when our subsidiary banks were consolidated into one organization, our history
reaches back more than 100 years.
In 1985, our founder J. Chester Porter purchased the Bullitt County Bank, which was formed in 1903. PBI Bank’s holding
company, Porter Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: PBIB), was then established in 1988. The next few years, Porter Bancorp acquired
community banks in Edmonson, Butler, Henry, Hart, Green and Barren counties. The merger of these individual bank
charters was completed Dec. 31, 2005, and PBI Bank was born.
Over the next several years, PBI Bank expanded its operations with acquisitions in Daviess, Ohio, Warren and Fayette counties.
Today, we strive to be the best community bank in Kentucky, and are dedicated to serving our neighbors and supporting our
communities in twelve counties across the Commonwealth.
Our Community Investment
PBI Bank has a vested interest in helping our neighbors and communities thrive, which is why we embrace the responsibility
as a corporate citizen to make our local communities a great place to live and work. We encourage our associates to be actively
involved citizens, and they are committed to strengthening our communities through their investments of time, talent and
resources.
