Franco Armani was born in 1986 in Casilda, Santa Fe, Argentina. He is a goalkeeper who currently plays for River Plate in Argentina. He played for Atlético Nacional in Colombia from 2010 to 2018, where he won 13 titles including the Copa Libertadores. In 2018, River Plate paid $3 million to sign him from Atlético Nacional. Armani was called up to Argentina's 35-man preliminary squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Club career
Franco Armani left Deportivo Merlo in 2010 for Medellín giants Atlético Nacional. He
stayed for 8 seasons and became their first choice goalkeeper. Armani would go on to
win thirteen trophies with El Verde, including the Copa Libertadores. In 2018 River
Plate paid his buyo ut clause to bring him back to Argentina, a reported $3.000.000
dollars.
International career
In 2012 Armani married a colombian, Daniela Rendón, and applied for citizenship.
Colombia were reportedly interested in naturalising Armani so that he could play for
their national team. Armani however wished to return to Argentina to press his case
for a World Cup berth with the nation of is birth.
In May 2018 he was named in Argentina´s preliminary 35 man squad for the 2018
World Cup in Rusia.
