BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION
Rationale
This course is designed as a prerequisite for Clinical Dietetics, which involves the clinical application of
nutrition and dietetic knowledge and skills. Providing a detailed study of the role and function of food and
nutrients in the various physiological states during the lifecycle, at the level of individual body systems, and
in human growth and development, this course preludes the study of the clinical disorders in which
nutrition and dietary intervention play an integral role.
