Gesture Terminology
Tap - use your fingertip to tap on the screen
Pinch - place your thumb and one finger on the
screen and pull them together while still touching
the screen
Swipe - touch your finger to the screen and slide
it in the direction you want to go
Flick - touch your finger to the screen and quickly
slide and release
Drag - place your finger on the desired location
and keep it firmly pressed while moving to the new
location

Multitasking Bar
Double-tap the Home button to get the
multitasking bar to show. It will appear over
the Dock area of the screen.
To re-open an app, double tap the app.
To slide through the open apps displayed on
the multitasking bar, swipe left or right.
To close an app, flick the app preview up.

Capturing a screenshot
To capture an image of your iPad screen,
simultaneously hold down both the Home
button and the Sleep/Wake button for
almost a second. A photo of your iPad screen
will be sent to your camera roll.
Screenshots can be used for many things
including: visuals for instructions, proof of
activity completion, picture of screen to be
sent via AirDrop

Frozen iPad
If your iPad is not responding (frozen), do a
hard reboot by pressing the Home button
and the Sleep/Wake button together for 10
seconds. The iPad will shut down.
Wait a few seconds and then press the
Sleep/Wake button to restart the iPad.

Organize apps – Moving apps
To move an app, press on the app tile until it
starts to jiggle.
Press down and drag the app to the new
location.
To drag across screens, drag all the way to
edge of the screen and wait for the screen to
change to the next page.
To get the apps to stop jiggling, press the
Home button once.

Organize apps – Deleting apps
To delete an app, press on it until it starts to
jiggle. Tap the X and confirm that you really
want to delete it.
You can always restore any app you have
purchased or downloaded for free by going to
the App Store and tapping on the Purchased
button.
Tap on Not On This iPad and find the app
you want to restore.
Click on the download cloud to reinstall it.

Organize apps – Making folders
To create a folder, touch and hold an app until it starts
to jiggle.
Drag the app on top of another app that you also want
in the folder. The folder will automatically be created
with a name based on the type of apps you have put in
it.
Add additional apps to the folder by dragging them into
it.
You can move a folder to the Dock by dragging the
folder to the Dock area.
To delete a folder remove all of the apps that are in it
by dragging them back onto the screen. When only
one app is left the folder will disappear.
