2. MY NEW INITIAL
IDEAS
After doing my pitch, and getting
feedback from the ‘investors’ a recurring
theme was that my idea of a girl getting
bullied and then defeating them was a
bit too deep not very ‘fun loving’.
My new idea has changed from being a music
video to being the Tv and online brief as
before I felt trapped with the song I was doing
and I also liked the idea of using dialogue, I felt
that this allowed me to be more expressive
with the content I was going to be creating.
3. THE NEW NARRATIVE
• The pre title sequence starts with a girl who’s on her phone scrolling
through social media, headphones on with a modern rap song that is in
the charts, so this fits with the 16-25 demographic as it’s a song they are
all likely to know
• Then a parent will come in and give some dialogue about how good it
was in the 80’s
• The next day the girl will wake up and reach for her phone on her
bedside table but cant find it, she then properly opens her eyes and her
room has been transformed into an 80’s teenage bedroom
• After a while she goes outside to see someone walk past with a
boombox under their arm and then it cuts to the title sequence
4. Mise-en-
scene
The two different locations that will be shown are:
Her bedroom- This is a setting that is familiar to a
16-25 demographic, it is also where a teenager is
expected to spend a large majority of their time.
This setting is shown at the start of the video giving
the audience a clear sense of the current culture of
todays society which comes in useful later on when
she wakes up and everything around her is from the
1980’s time period
5. PROPS
• 80’s posters on the wall including famous ICONIC bands from that time
who the mass market demographic will know
• Record player and records
• 80’s board games
• Old 80’s tv
• Large film recorder
• Old large phone
• Walkman
• Old desktop computer
