In the summer, reflections and ripples transform our one-acre property into a
cottage-like escape. We designed, built and landscaped our 24 x 35 foot pond with
waterfalls and bridge in 2006. Lovely mature trees, generous plantings, a large
waterside deck and fanciful koi complete the lush, serene atmosphere.
Please stop by for a visit and a chat. Stroll around, rest in the shade of our immense
weeping willows, enjoy a refreshing beverage on the deck and watch a slideshow
of our pond-building adventure. Feed our fish - they are very friendly and always
hungry! Park in the driveway on the left side of the property at the curb sign. Enter

Is it a “Pond-less waterfall?” Is it a pond?
It’s both. It works like a pond-less waterfall and is not intended to have fish. It is
the easiest of water features to maintain and can be designed and constructed just
about anywhere. The reason we call it a hybrid is that it looks like a pond. For those
who want the visual appeal of a small pond with the emphasis on the waterfall and/
or stream, but don’t necessarily want to have fish, this is the water feature for you.
Your imagination is the only limit.
The waterfall starts with a small pooling area for marginal water plants, small
waterfall into the stream and another waterfall into the pooling area for marginal
water plants, small waterfall into stream and another waterfall into the pooling basin
that looks like a small pond. It let’s you add the beauty of water plants in a traditional
garden.
Feature designed and installed by Clearwater Ponds.
15. 15Pond Tour for Hospice
92 Wellington Street South, Hamilton, L8N 2R2
Hosts: Mary Frances Marriot-Fox & Patrick Smith
Directions: Stay on Wellington, do not go up the mountain. This is the 4th house on the right,
just past Hunter. Watch for the black iron fence. Plenty of free on street parking on both sides
of Wellington and all side streets - Jackson, Hunter, Grove, Stinson.
A serene spot in downtown Hamilton. Deck or dock? Ours overhangs a tiny stream
and large pond with waterfalls and adjoins to a Victorian secret garden.
Feature created by Clearwater Ponds.
16. 16 Pond Tour for Hospice
63 Hardale Crescent, Hamilton, L8T 1X9
Hosts: Dennis Turner
Directions: From the Lincoln Alexander Parkway Westbound, take the Upper Gage Avenue
exit. Turn right onto Upper Gage Avenue. Turn right onto Fennel Avenue East. Turn right onto
Shirley Street. Turn left onto Hardale Crescent. The destination will be on the left.
As featured in The Hamilton Spectator, this large pond, with huge waterfalls, even
an island, built and dedicated to the memory of Betty Turner. This backyard is
the holiday getaway that Betty and Dennis were never able to take. A plaque is
beautifully displayed to commemorate the pond in Betty’s honour.
Feature designed & created by Clearwater Ponds.
17. 17Pond Tour for Hospice
63 Elliot Avenue, Hamilton, L8T 2H7
Hosts: Gail Harrison, Janet Lawson & Joan Lawson
Directions: From Upper Kenilworth, South of Mohawk, take the 2nd left onto Elliot Avenue.
“This backyard is a mini RBG!” writes the owner. Enjoy your visit to this urban yard
with a country feeling. Relax to the sound of water cascading from the trio bubbling
Basalt fountains that crown the rainwater storage area, tumbling over the small
waterfall into the pond or spilling over the ride of the bog. Shubunkins circle lazily in
the pond and nibble at the water lilies. A wide variety of birds visit daily to bathe and
preen in the shallows.
The owners are plant lovers, so you’ll see a wide variety of textures and colours in
the plantings - from the collection of ferns that is one person’s passion, to the dwarf
and unusual evergreens that another loves, to the shrubs and trees that no one can
resist. With no grass to cut, who needs a cottage?
This pond’s decorative water features and rain harvest system were created
by Clearwater Ponds.
