This document discusses designing electronics as social objects to bring people together both online and offline. It argues that shared passions and a shared social object in a shared space can help people meet new people. The future may see more social objects that bridge online and offline social interactions by focusing on empathy, curiosity and social potential to connect people.
8. “Connection is why we’re here - the ability to feel connected.
It’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.
This is what it’s all about.

to be seen” Brene Brown

Sometimes I feel like an ancient preserver of old age behaiours... but really I’m not on the side of face to face, versus computer to computer - i actually want THIS - technology interactions to enable us to do THIS - the face to face interactions BETTER - because if we are spending less time interacting with people, then we need to make sure that we are getting deeper value out of the chances that we DO have to meet people face to face. \n
